murd0c 02-26-2011 06:15 PM

I'm just happy I'm still only running 15psi on my tires right now, makes things so much easier for me.

kyoshiro 02-26-2011 06:15 PM

yeah its fairly bad at some parts

Teriyaki 02-26-2011 06:19 PM

Weird how Richmond was supposed to be the one hardest hit.

twitchyzero 02-26-2011 06:22 PM

the conditions seem pretty poor for a first day of snowfall
albeit i'm on A/S but i still skid quite badly at even around 25kph

Its -3 so its really icy. The snow that's falling isn't really making it powdery but more hardpacked icy. Usually I make out pretty well in the powder with M+S tires, but this ice is just horrible. It's still pretty safe to drive around 50 on most streets just be very aware and alert .. I hit a few patches of ice randomly in corners and had to correct it pretty quick. People are driving like completely morons on the side streets (inadvertently running stop signs, making wide ass left turns into the opposite side of the street, retarded).

kyoshiro 02-26-2011 06:28 PM

I was going 30-40 all the way, i wouldnt go 50...

Razor Ramon HG 02-26-2011 06:28 PM

:lol

Raccoons climbed on the top of my roof with the help of some snow.

Well at your own discretion. I left my truck in 2nd gear the whole way, as I approached corners/curves I just let off the gas and let the engine brake all 4 wheels down to 30 and go through them, then get back upto 50. Taking left turns is risky business. Never know if people are gonna be able to stop in time or not.

Alatar 02-26-2011 06:36 PM

Just want to stress to anyone with snow tires that this is ice we're talking about on the roads. Not just snow. Conditions are very icy out there, and even with snow tires, that doesn't mean you should be driving like an idiot.

Just because you may be able to stop/go/maneuver doesn't mean everyone else around you can.

jjson 02-26-2011 06:38 PM

just got off work from honda, had to park a G35 w/ summer tires as a blocker. Should have used the CRV instead.

kyoshiro 02-26-2011 06:47 PM

man, I prob should salt the whole complex else my neighbors may have trouble getting out.

ImportPsycho 02-26-2011 06:47 PM

Matsuda 02-26-2011 06:55 PM

@news1130traffic: 7:27-BURNABY - Boundary Road closed southbound at Rumble Street because it's too icy.

alex.w *// 02-26-2011 06:59 PM

you can definately tell between the peope with winter tires and all seasons.

just saw a x6 crawling at 10km/h flat road

kyoshiro 02-26-2011 07:02 PM

X6's xdrive were never tuned for snow i think lol
but even winter tires aint gonna save you from ice!

orange7 02-26-2011 07:05 PM

I don't think the x6 stock tires are meant for the snow.
