man.. this is like troll snow (again). it's been snowing all day and it hasn't amounted to much. forecast shows rain coming soon too :failed:

kyoshiro 02-26-2011 07:50 PM

i would prefer it just continued to snow and let it pack up so I can actually get a bit more grip than on ice. Its gonna be even worse after rain :(

i just freaking shoveled and was thinking the same. last time we had snow while i was shoveling and about to salt, it freaking started raining.

Energy 02-26-2011 08:05 PM

holy its so icy in Richmond. Snow is ok but the roads are frozen so even with snow tires I had to watch myself especially when making turns. Be careful out there.

Death2Theft 02-26-2011 08:10 PM

Hope you didn't cheap out on the snowtires.:fullofwin:

saw 2 cars plow onto the curb heading southbound Argyle Dr and 57th, slow down on that corner! a Camry narrowly missed a RX-8 plowed onto a curb, and a RSX destroyed his driver side hitting some box...

Slow down boys n girls :)

EmperorIS 02-26-2011 08:50 PM

Lowered_Klass 02-26-2011 08:51 PM

Yeah, it's gettin' icey here in Pitt/Ridge. Pay the fuck attention! :D

Energy 02-26-2011 08:52 PM

I was going to go to a parking lot and have some fun with the snow but decided that its better to stay home and not risk it.

azncreationz 02-26-2011 08:58 PM

Yeah, getting pretty bad here in Coquitlam on Rochester. Saw a Mini Cooper in the bushes, and another big Mercedes almost slide into a minivan parked on the side of the road. Last night, saw a drunk kid slam his Mustang into a parked car. Lots of action around here!

Yah it's always fun watching the cars try to get up blue mountain in that area

I was driving around at around 5pm from about Broadway & Cambie to Kingsway up to Knight Street, and even though the snow was barely covering the ground, it was about as slippery of conditions as I've driven in like 12 years. The conditions were such that the snow pretty much turned into a sheet of ice, even along the main roads.

While I was in all seasons, I was barely getting traction even on like a 2° incline on Broadway... was sad.

While home, there was an accident in the intersection of Knight & Kingsway at around 6:30pm that inconvenienced traffic for like an hour...

Matsuda 02-26-2011 09:30 PM

I just got home from dropping off my gf in Richmond. Saw so many drivers that didn't even bother wiping the snow off their back window....

oh and a snow plow behind me on Boundary was scraping up sparks all the way down the street =)

ok honestly. In this weather your texting while driving and hit someone you really deserve it. What idiot takes chances like that in this weather?????

CP.AR 02-26-2011 09:34 PM

^ I think you read his post wrong...

I think the guy texted dhillon after he hit the car, so probably he stopped and outside looking at damage or whatever.

No she was driving .. but she has no experience driving in the snow (in her car anyways) and her cars RWD on continental all season tires ... she texted me right after she crashed .. I really wanna say "i told you so" but that'd be a dick move. I routinely go back and forth from the mountains/whistler in the winter .. while I'm no expert snow driver, but I'm sure what just happened wouldn't have if she had accepted my offer to drive her and her friends. Oh well, live and learn.

We'll see if ICBC rules her 100% at fault because of no snow tires .. I have no idea on the specifics of the accident.

Before you guys go off and say "FEMALE DRIVER!" shes actually not half bad, im actually surprised she crashed. Just inexperienced I guess/

Oleophobic 02-26-2011 09:39 PM

one of my buddies told me he was on kingsway and one time he braked and skidded and did a 180. After he came to a complete stop he was facing the car behind him lol
