US are fully backing SK and presently have at least 24k ground troops stationed near the nk/sk border. with anti-missile shield carriers stationed off the shores of SK, and the fact that SK and NK's armies are about the same size (nukes aside, guys, nukes aside), it looks like NK is just itching to get steam rolled.
sk has a low risk for missiles impacting their city with their current theatre missile defense systems, and US carriers and their own missile shields, but even if 1 nuke slipped past all the missile defense systems, then SK's fucked and economy would go back down to shit
president lee from sk said there's no more warnings after this; next incident is war. i think he should do a cost-benefit analysis of the alternatives for the next 2 years:
1) do nothing; potentially lose 100's lives in next couple years, millions in dollars (following trend from last 5 years)
2) attack only when attacked; could escalate situation, which would inevitably bring it to alternative 3
3) attack n.k.; potentially lose millions of lives, cost billions in dollars, and take decades to rebuild economy and infrastructure
Or you meet some girl at the club, cum inside of her, find out shes only in grade 12, so you buy a Prada bag for her to make things right, she finds out the bag is a fake and decides to have the kid

War is inevitable in my opinion, the NK leadership is unstable, desperate and has been backed into a corner. Their acts of war will only continue to escalate until SK has no option but to eliminate the threat, at which point NK will throw its full military might at the world. I use military might loosely considering everything they possess is outdated, there population is starving in peace times and their only ally will likely turn against them.
I don't expect WW3, although I wouldn't be surprised if there was a nuclear device detonated on the Korean peninsula, but I do expect a new Vietnam. The NK people have been so brainwashed by their neurotic, paranoid leaders that I believe many will fight to the death before accepting a united Korea. The NK leadership have been elevated from the status of mortals to gods in their society, those loyal to them will behave as if they were defending their saviors.
My only hope is that the United States, in their infinite wisdom, refrains from retailiating to a nuclear attack with more nukes. That would WW3.

NK will not do anything without getting China's backing... and like always, china uses NK as bargaing chip.
All permanent SC members condemed NK except CHINA, which said both countries must back down.
All said, now the US is sending its AC fleet to Korean waters, it may irk NK more to see unfriendly forces multiply in thr backyard.
Even though SK is technically far ahead in military hardware, NK has way more conventional military hardware , and nukes (even though non of thr nuke delievery missiles are reliable).

whoa,... cost benefit analysis.. you sound like my econ prof.. lol
NK will probably throw up some propaganda when they get attacked
I can't believe this woman would run for candidacy

As part of her media blitz, Ms Palin called in to the nationally syndicated Beck show. When she was asked about the escalating conflict in Asia she said it was worrying that the Obama administration could not be trusted to take the appropriate action.
“We're not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do. So this speaks to a bigger picture here that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policies,” she said.
“But obviously we gotta stand with our North Korean allies.”
The host interjected after her second slip of the tongue to point out that South Korea was the real US ally. “Err, yeah,” she said.

What makes you think their ally SOUTH KOREA would allow them to nuke North Korea? Makes no sense whatsoever.
