| shopping around for B-R-A-K-E job
my sht beater needs new breaks, all 4 of coners (rotors drums pads etc..)
Midas quoted me $880(including labour) before tax.
I was wondering if I should try different places
If Midas' price is on par with else where, I'll just do it there since it's right next to my house
edit: BRAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can probably get it done for a negotiable price around 600 or slightly less by independent shops.

I did rear drums, shoes, front rotors and pads before. One side always takes more than twice as long as the other side the first time
IMO, DIY this. You save a shit load and you learn something |

disk breaks are alot easier to do than drums incase your wandering lol
If you can do an oil change, change a flat tire, and have some basic hand tools, and a jack + stands, you can do this.
Google for enthusiasts websites for your car model, and 99% chance there will be a step by step walk through for beginners. Even if you don't have the basic tools, for the amount of $$$ you'll waste in labour you're better off investing in tools so you can do other work in the future!
