wish theyd use all this money for researching weapons on researching cures and resolving world hunger

(although america needs to dump 'excess' food on the 3rd world so that they can maintain prices)

Think of it from the government's point of view: cures don't help minimize world population, weapons do. Not to mention the amount of money that can be made off weapon sales during war.

Also, would love to see one of those projectiles hit a car or some other object. to see exactly what kind of damage it can do.

I'll be more impressed when they build one that doesn't require a ship to move it and a small power plant to power it.

It's kind of like the new maglev trains, but instead of a train, they're pushing a non explosive round or object, and instead of normal speeds, ridiculous speeds.

Some researchers were saying that one application is building one on the moon and using it to launch samples back to Earth lol. I'll believe it when I see it.
