5 episodes into Luke Cage and it's pretty good.

I thought the rapper at the start of episode 5 was really good.

watching Luke Cage too, episode 1 was kind of MEH but 2 was really good, end of 3 was a bit too corny for my tastes, but 4 is good so far (well it was until Netflix went offline)

guessing it goes up n down hopefully it stays mostly good

Feels like if Luke Cage was set in the 70s it would've been waaaay better.

Figured I'd give Luke Cage a try. Two episodes in and it's kind of a snore fest. Nothing really happens at all. Hard to take Theo Rossi seriously after being a fucking pussy rat on SAMCRO and Remy from House of Cards as the HNIC? I dunno, not really buying it.

Agreed with rsx, a 70's setting would have been killer. I actaully though it was the 70's during the opening scene until a car drove by.

Just finished Luke Cage. It is by far the best compared to Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Plot was good and engaging. Casting was also very well done too.

Spoiler!

Haters Back Off

My wife recommended it to me. The first episode was alright. It's very Napoleon Dynamite styled. The 2nd episode got me hooked: ribbon gymnastics . LOL!

Spoiler!

I checked out ep 1 of Cage but man the show is so goofy yet seems to want to take itself so seriously. It also looks cheaply made in a way. Maybe just poorly directed, I don't know. Anyway, I think these superhero shows and movies have to be over the top ridiculous. Agents of Shield, Gotham, Supergirl, Guardians, Deadpool, etc. Silly fun.

The "serious" ones just come off as kind of cringey and embarrassing. I remember laughing out loud when they revealed Daredevil's costume, it was so bad.

Punisher might still be good though...

So much hype about Luke Cage. In no way better than other Marvel's movies. It probavly on the same level as Jessica Jones.... Low budget.

The guys who played Luke kinda sucks too. Boring as hell.

I agree I wanted to like this show, but it just didn't grab me, I'm on the last episode.

Why did they think it would make sense to have Cage basically beat up and barely able to fight for the last episodes of the season? I was getting tired of how emo the actor playing him acts, I felt like I waited the whole season to see Luke actually kick some ass, which he rarely ever did. A super-powered rifle with bullets that can hurt him? Since when? He's supposed to be bullet proof, what a stupid premise.

At least in Daredevil we got to see him kick some ass almost every episode.

i think they said the bullets were made of materials harvested from the "incident", meaning they're some sort of alien material.

If you ever make it through the series, wait til you see Diamondback's costume. I had to pause cus I was laughing way too fucking hard at it.
"What are you, a pimp storm trooper?"

Prolly my favorite scene from the series. The song afterwards was pretty tight too. Sweet Christmas.

s3 e2 about the video game playtesting was a pretty good one

you don't have to watch it sequentially since the episodes are independent of each other
