Carjackings in Richmond

Three carjackings in Richmond over two weeks
Armed man approaches demanding keys

Dave White Dec 28, 2010 12:16:56 PM

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) - Richmond Mounties are warning the public about a rash of violent carjackings that have all taken place in the last two weeks.
Police say all of the victims had their cars parked in public areas when they were approached by a man with a weapon who demanded their keys. It's believed all the thefts are random.
The RCMP is urging drivers to be aware of their surroundings, park in well lit areas, and if you think you're being followed call 911 right away.
The only descriptions of the suspects police can provide at this time are that they are male, one is Indo-Canadian and another is Caucasian, and both are in their 30s. Police are not saying where exactly the carjackings occurred.

She was approached from behind supposedly, so not certain. Could be gun, knife, or a stick for all we know.

following you as you're walking to your car, as the car jackings happen when you're in parking lots not driving.

Matlock 12-29-2010 01:30 AM

Well, when I'm in Richmond during work hours I'll be on the lookout with my steel toe boots, hammer, and pliers. Ready to rip some teeth out. :fuckyea:

I'm really curious on the specifics of these crimes. What type of cars and what types of weapons.

Great. As if the current generation of chinese people are racist enough.

Now we are told specifically to watch out for a gwai lo and an a cha.

it should teach the c-lais to be aware of their surroundings as opposed to being oblivious to anything and everything. it's not like they are behind the wheel yet.

911 is the only exception to the hands-free rule.

Guess knowing the rules properly is your first step..

typical, blame someone else for your towns problems. We dont have car jackings here, you guys are fucked. Better move here while its still cheap

godwin 12-29-2010 09:13 PM

I notice in Surrey you might not have car jackers but there are always people roving the parking lots asking for change.
