Nothing's wrong.
I think people would just say fillet mignon instead of calling it a tenderloin wrap with bacon top with peppercorn sauce. :)

I went to the keg last night and had their Prime Rib. It was alright... but their Billy Miner Pie was friggen good. Lol.

Went to Italian Kitchen a month ago for my staff Christmas party.
Gonna go back tomorrow with the GF.

Best tiramisu I've ever had.

Has anyone ever heard of/ done the Brasserie Mystère?

I just signed up for the free tickets! =)

HonestTea 01-27-2011 09:39 PM

Just booked Mistral! :)

Went to The Keg last night, Prime Rib was good + Billy Miner cake was pretty good as well!

Service: 10/10
Food: 9/10

Just went to Provence on West 10th... wasn't great. I actually opted out of the $38 DOV menu... ordered from the regular menu instead, while the other ten people or so at my table did the DOV. Portions were pretty small, and overall food taste and presentation were lacking, in my opinion. Certainly not worth it in my view.

lol.
just came back from Mistral tonight. Food was alright. Presentation was fair but my ribeye was very unappealing on the eyes.... so much that i didn't even bother with a picture.

Aside from The Brasserie Bistro's Dine Out Menu, I found out their lunch menu will now be 40% off for the duration of the Dine Out Vancouver. Sounds like a deal. Anyone else tried this place before?

Eh? It's not like I had to sit apart from them.

I think I enjoyed my calamari and seafood spaghettini more than what's on the DOV menu. I had some of each thing from my wife's DOV servings.

BlackZRoadster 01-28-2011 01:11 PM

^. Lol I was just playing, but when the whole table orders dine out and you opt not to , the Meme of forever alone just popped in my head

Went to the Keg last night and omg......how did I not know of this Billy Miners Pie?! Fricken delish! Prime rib was tender and juicy, thought the portions were quite generous!

Cloud 9 - What an experience!
Food - 9/10 (Portions were bigger then the kegs :O got myself a prime rib)
Service - 8/10 (attentive and not rushed at all)
Ambiance - 10/10 (View was amazing and it was the first time ive been that high so it was fun pointing landmarks out)

dignatas 01-29-2011 01:12 PM

went to don fransisco last night and the food was good!

i suggest ordering these if you go for dine out

pasta for appy.. the salad wasn't that great

steak for entree since i got the seafood and tried both. Seafood wasn't the bomb

dessert.. go for fruits or sour ice cream, eat tiramisu if you like rum or some alcohol in it which makes it bitter.

mako 01-29-2011 02:58 PM

Wild Rice
7/10
Food was alright. Nothing special that'd make me want to go back though.
The duck confit dumplings and pork/scallop siu mai were pretty interesting.

hirevtuner 01-29-2011 03:45 PM

Aquariva
4/10 small portions
Food: Me> Seared scallops (3 loonie-sized pieces) Potato crusted wild Salmon w/rissoto (cooked overdone and very bland) and dessert is the apple/cranberry crisp (nothing to write home abt)
Date> Seafood chowder soup (not expecting the tomato soup based) Wood fired rib-eyed steak (something really off, I think it was really tough and too fatty) dessert, choco mousse cake (didn't enjoy as it tasted like store bought and not fresh)

Overall: wasted $28 pp, would have been more happier using groupon deals.

I hope this place changed chef or run by different management. This is the first time I've seen cloud9 rated that high. Most times ppl
Just go for the view bc food is 4-5/10

Sanafir: 4/10
Dont go if you're expecting actual indian food, you will be disappointed.
Food was alright, nothing special.
Ordered the "Butter chicken"; it wasn't remotely close to butter chicken at all.
Desert is the generic chocolate cake you get in all Glowbal restaurants.

Not recommended.

sh0n 01-29-2011 10:29 PM

C Restaurant: 1/10 wait. -5/10. Thank you for wasting my time.

If I can rate this lower, I would. I'm writing this review based on only what was experienced.

Severe issue with their idea of "Service" for fine dinig. DOV does not mean you are allowed to alienate or treat customers differently.

When you visit them make sure to ask for the Table for 2 in Wine Cellar.

Special includes:
- Proximity to the bathroom (you will get to meet every patron in restaurant because they will be looking into your direction when they are on the "GO")
- No privacy because of the security camera (they don't want you to steal their wine)
- You are the Fire hazard (because you will be blocking everyone from entering/exiting the wine cellar).

I don't want to be a dick, but someone dropped the ball in terms of placing the table where it was. Truly it shouldn't even have been there if they consider themselves a fine dining restaurant.

Walked out of restaurant and politely addressed the hostess on the way out.

Thank you C for wasting my time and calling yourself a fine dining restaurant. You have truly dropped the ball. Your first impression counts and you failed.

Will not repeat or ever visit even if comp'ed meal or paid for by others.
