For $200 im liking it quite a bit. My #1 use is streaming shows/movies/nhl+nfl games on it. Makes it so much easier to watch than on a laptop or ps3.

Rooting it opens up a whole bunch of possibilities. It's still takes some time to get it going, but it's fairly straightforward, now. The major thing that rooting will allow you to do is to install the Android Market. Then you can download Android apps.

To place them on the Playbook desktop, the Android APK files can be converted to Blackberry BAR files, and then "sideloaded" into the Playbook.

Cineplex Mobile
Conqu
Convertinator <-awesome converter for weight, length, currency, etc.
ScoreMobile
ScratchPad <- decent paint type doodler
Ridgid Didgital Bubble Level <- acts as a level but has an option that uses the camera as a level

theres starting to be more remote control type apps popping up like for remote access on your PC and better bridges to your phone. like you can play media stored on your phone on your PB now. also theres apps now for better file and folder management, etc. most of these i think will be improved upon in the native apps for os2 in february tho.
looked like there were lots of other neat utilities out there for score keeping and time keeping and gimicky things like that. hopefully more useful ones get developed and of course the android apps will be good too.

I hope your normal written communication skills are better than what you've demonstrated in your post. Perhaps elaborate on the problem?

I don't check this thread very often, so I'm not sure if you've previously discussed your problem.

Ughh, did a factory reset on my playbook and now when I'm in the set up stage it can't find any wifi connections and I can't continue on with the set up. Anyone know what I can do?

edit: can't add a connection manually as well

Glad I'm not alone. Still a shitty deal, as RS is the only site that seems to give me grief, but it's my 'go to' site when I'm lookin' to kill time, etc.

Hopefully it gets better.

When you click on a forum or thread on RS does the little blue loading bar go about 1/4th of the way and then disappear? Occasionally if i wait like 15 seconds after it will load the page.

It has to be something with RS because every other forum works fine.

Well, the servers have moved recently, and the IP has changed a bunch. In windows, you could do a IPCONFIG /flushdns, but I don't know what the Playbook equivalent is.

That works. Is that necessary if BB can't access RS?
