You have to be kidding me.

This place might be cheap (I didn't pay for the bill so I don't really know), but if you don't like being in a shitty environment with people who don't know how to enjoy food or have any sort of manners, I suggest you avoid this steam pile of horse-shit restaurant.

Big Six alert + shitty food + abysmal service + giant portions of shitty food.

Edit:

Also do not go to a place on Kingsway called "East River Seafood Chinese Restaurant". That place eats donkey dick, too.

murd0c 01-11-2011 08:57 PM

I go to Golden Swan on Victoria drive but a couple blocks down the road theres another place that has $2 dishes awhile ago and it was really good. I think Vansterdam lives close and he knows the name.

Fuck how do I even remember that lol

also +1 for dai tung

mpr 01-12-2011 11:07 AM

Alpha is not happy the waitress doesn't fill their tea with water. for $30 bucks tips in, you can feed 4 people really full, I'll go pour my own water. There is so many people packed there at noon for dim sum, sometimes you just have to serve yourself.

One of my new favorite places in Van and a bonus that it's like 2 mins away. Options are pretty limited in that area in terms of goodness. Favorite place has still gotta be Jade in Richmond though.

$30 to eat out of a trough and to top it off, be treated like a farm animal? Wow.

And please, I kindly ask that you refer to my signature.

At least you get fed :troll:

This thread is a testament to how some of you have real poor taste and low standards when it comes food. Not to mention, your taste buds need to get checked out.

mpr 01-13-2011 11:24 AM

if only the thread is high quality, great service, and cheap dim sum.

another one:

Happy Valley Restaurant
lougheed
20% discount now
5 dim sum dishes $17 + $2.88 big plate of noodles.

skyxx 01-13-2011 12:50 PM

Happy valley isn't 20% off. It's only 10% and the special "anniversary" dishes are half off on weekdays only. This place is quite decent but the portions are huge.

Top gun hot pot in crystal mall is good. Get the membership card for $20 and I think you get 20% off dim sum. 10% off their ayce chains.

mpr 01-13-2011 12:58 PM

skyxx: i was just there few hours ago. I got 20% off.

top gun hot pot is not cheap but cheaper if you are vip, but good place to bring large familes. good quality too. large amounts.

distanc3 01-13-2011 01:43 PM

I went to Po King kingsway burnaby, same plaza as dennys. 3$ a dish but pretty big portions :)

d1 01-13-2011 01:47 PM

I rarely go dimsum now but I went to prince on Grandview highway and Renfrew recently and it was fairly good.

The place for roughed up cuz the owner owed the suppliers money so they ripped up their signs and pour paint everywhere :T

Btw golden swan is under new management this month (not sure if its already implemented but its sometime in the middle of jan) it'll be the same owned as golden awards before it got sold off and oscar which I think got sold off.

skyxx 01-13-2011 02:55 PM

Service will still be the same even after ownership change. It's the same people serving/waiting.
