I have been doing Stronglifts 5x5 since Nov 2010. I did GOMAD and went from 175 to 185 lbs at 6'0"

As of Sept 13th, 2011 (All 5x5 except deadlift 1x5).

Squat has gone from 160 -> 260
Deadlift 135 -> 300,
Bench Press 130->185
Overhead Press 95-> 125
I am sitting at 185 right now and will probably do GOMAD again to get to 195 then cut again. Fun times.

I would recommend Stronglifts 5x5 and GOMAD to anyone. I had no problem with 4L of Homo milk a day. It actually gets easier and you end up craving milk!

I personally think a large portion of gaining weight is to do with diet and like sleep. When I dont get much sleep I feel as if I tend to gain more like fat, feel more exhausted overall and have worse skin (don't ask I hate it...)

Or...you could just go the supplements path and load up on creatine and heavy protiens like (seemingly) the majority of people trying to gain weight.

^x2

I get people telling me I look bigger all the time. It gives you a strong core and wider back/shoulders. I love that it is 3 days a week. I use a spreadsheet to track my progress.

Thanks a lot halo and strykn.

Every time I thought I was going to hit a plateau, I would rest for a day and break through within a couple of trys. Stronglifts takes time and perseverance, but it definitely pays off.

i think after reading ame's post, im pretty set on trying 5x5. for some reason, my routine just seems so monotonous now after getting back from a small break.

Seems like a lot of people are trying to break the 3 plate deadlift and squat plateau.

Jer you won't regret it. I like it that it's 3 days a week. You always have at least 48hrs rest between workouts to recover. It's also motivating every time you set a new personal best.

Yep I am trying to break 3 plate deadlift. Tried it tonight for the first time and only did 2 reps with bad form.
