Awesome meet guys. I just joined RS and that was my first meet, it was really well done and had a really sick turnout. I didn't bring my car this time cause I just bought it this week and it's still bone stock and dirty :p so hopefully by the summer meet I'll have lots done to it and have it all cleaned up. Looking forward to the summer meet! Posted via RS Mobile |

Thanks to RS staff for hosting this meet and as well as everyone who came out, nice to see some familiar faces after winter modes. |
I was parked across from the Tiburons. It was a black first gen, huge body kit, and loud as hell. I didn't even think to get a picture of it, but I'm sure someone did. I would like to thank EVERYONE for putting on a great meet again. |
Awesome meet guys except for those people ripping it down the street... To bad they bottomed out on the dip there :troll: |
great sunny day meet + nice 1st gen ISsssss :woot2: |

And a huge thanks to chooman and shoei as always! :D it was a good turn out, can't wait til summer meet... I will try my best to keep that weekend free Posted via RS Mobile |
Black 1st gen Tiburon. Thanks for revving your gay exhaust and backfiring everywhere and calling one of our moderators a nasty name. Classy dude, classy. Anyways, the plate number was given to police, some video was taken. Have fun with that one! |

btw, do you work for Lordco? I am looking into building car but the parts guy in my local store are not very helpful :( |
Is there a video that we can see the driver doing backfires? |
Great meet guys, some really nice cars there. Thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen. Like the fellow from VPC, I can't speak for other peoples actions, but I apologize for any of our crew acting up. =( The owner of the black tib is a great guy & would have promptly apologized about the 2 step nonsense & cut it out. He isn't someone of character to speak disrespectfully to others at meets; the little comment heard was more than likely one of the followers of the group. In any case, we'll fill everyone in and tell them to leave the crap like that at home & promptly tell them to leave if it happens again. I completely agree with peoples gripes about that shi7. As it is, respect for Hyundai is obviously pretty low shelf & none of the negative feedback helps to build a positive image. I take pride in the work i've put into my underdog & it ticks me off to see a couple people who run along side with the group put a bad vibe on the actual crew or members not following meet edicate. Anywho hope to see you all @ the summer meet where we can all behave & just enjoy the show w/out the ricer crap going on. |
I got a pm from him, he asked me to keep the pm between us so i wont post his username. he apologized for everything, which is all i wanted. and like you said antwon he said it wasn't him who said it, so i'll apologize for assuming it was him. from his pm he seems like a level headed guy, and said it was peer pressure that made him do it. so lets take this moment to remind everyone, please don't egg your fellow club members on to do stuff like rev and make your car backfire.... people don't think you're cool... it just makes you look like an idiot. do that on your own time, away from the event.. i appreciate all you guys that came in to apologize for your clubs, that shows you guys actually give a damn and we appreciate that. whats done is done, and the requested apology has been made. so lets make it water under the bridge and move on. |
Thanks to RS for hosting another fun event! Posted via RS Mobile |
tiburon dude making us hyundai owners look bad :( at least he manned up though i've heard a single genesis coupe showed, anybody check out his car? http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2231373_n.jpg looks pretty stockish from the rear, did anybody see the front or the engine? other friend of mine who has a grey gc went lateish (1:30?) but he said most of the people were gone or leaving by then |
^hey i saw that gen coupe! damn my kdm senses :fullofwin: |
I am new here and my input may not count but I would like to add my thoughts on this matter. I think that everyone here uber reacted on this matter and overblowed it out of proportion without thinking of the repercussions that other people who are not involved are getting affected by it. Which makes me think that if member of this site makes a mistake, same kind of treat will be given to them? Being called a tool, douche bag, retard and etc? Not to take sides, but there is a part of Hyundai in my heart since I am half Korean. I actually met the said person at the meet; as Raid3n and iwtib had mentioned, I've got the measure and respect for him since he is actually good and very inviting person. He actually worked on all of the Tiburons there and did I mention that they are all forced induced!!? which makes me really proud even more these cars/owners don't really get a lot of praise as is. He took the time to explain how it was done which opened my eyes on how amazing those machines could be. The only thing is he has made that temporary bad lapse of judgement by giving into the peer pressure but no one really deserves to get publicly be crucified especially when he actually apologized when he was confronted. And to make it more complicated, he was actually thought to be disrespecting the moderator, by saying something bad (which he didn't since we heard the conversation between him and Raid3n) and being blamed for all the ruckus, but according to one my mates there was actually another car in the same area that was doing the same thing, it was a Prelude or something. Now, I do understand how a fellow moderator like orgasm_donor or a long time member like CorneringArtist will react when "one of their own" gets disrespected, but who are we to judge so quickly especially if we dont know all the facts and the truth behind it. Would you like to be blammed for something that you didn't do? Revscene is a good community and I am looking forward in being a part of it but I think there should be some sort of a discretional warning and fact finding before casting the first stone and instigating other members to take up arms, grab their torches and pitch forks to hunt the beast down. Releasing personal information (like names, phone number, plate numbers, pictures, videos and etc) should be done responsibly and with good care since it can be dangerous and damaging. From the drift of what subwoffers is saying that "should we look around, hunt the vehicle down, tag it with laser and launch an air strike on it?" "death from above" What if the info is wrong? What if the car is stolen and it wasn't the owner who was driving it? What if he has a family, kids etc are also using it as well or on the vehicle? This should be done only for serial killer, rapists, child molesters and etc to protect others. This goes as well to generalization comments like all Chinese are bad drivers, or all mustang drivers are retards and etc. As one of my teachers, a great Judge, had mentioned "I have been given the previledge - not to judge and punish but to correct" Anyways, sorry for taking your time for this rant. Bottom line is, he made a mistake, he admitted it and quickly apologized about it on the spot. Shaming someone and their crew who had nothing to do with was not necessary.. I hope it was handled differently. On that note, as Raid3n, mentioned... lets move, learn from this and close this issue, but I do vote that all the nasty comments made be removed and/or edited. Go Canucks go! Go Whitecaps go! |

^^ Good rant, and I agree with what you say about things being overblown a little bit. But the reason why we crackdown pretty hard on people who (in this case did a two step.) is because it is VERY difficult to pull these meets off, AND stay on the good side of the cops. On top of this this event is supposed to be for everyone to enjoy, and when one person tries to be a killjoy it wrecks it for everyone. In the past, we've had someone pull an uncalled for burnout, and ended up chipping the glass of a VERY expensive car. Now, while I'm not saying his actions are on this level, you need to understand how we can take over an entire public space AND keep things civil for everyone to enjoy. Us enthusiasts arent the only ones there, there are families and bystanders there who probably haven't heard that sound before. To them, it could be a gunshot. We are so quick to judge because it is actions like these that may prevent us from doing future meets. No one wants these meets to end right? Always fun, and always FREE. On top of this, we actually contact the police so no one gets a VI or in trouble with them when their car is just sitting there. Revscene has a good rep with the police, and they want to keep it that way. Of course, he admitted his mistake and good on him. People are already moving on because he knows what he did was wrong. Just look forward to the summer meet! |

goddamnit jpark we're rolling to the summer meet together with a fucking flag that says kdm on it or something |
Is it possible to get cops to show off their cars in the summer meet? I mean, let the cops show us what kind of gear they pack in the trunk and electronics they have (both SUVs and crown vics). I'm sure people (including me) would be interested to learn. I'm sure having such a display at a car gathering would allow the car community to communicate better with officers, and respect them more. If anything, it'd make certain drivers think twice before they pull any stunts (after they see what the cops are packing) I'll forward this to a mod as well via PM. |
