Decent used car for under 12gs?

for some reason I have 12k right now, and would like to invest in a decent used vehicle that can take me to point a and point b. I'll go car shopping tomorrow, but for now I could use some opinions as to what I should get. My requirements are:

fun to drive
preferably manual
under 150k kms
NO domestics
no rebuilts

12k or under. That's 12k for the car, or maybe you guys can recommend a 2-3k shell and 9k in mods that will make the car better. Cheers!

Right now I am leaning towards some used RSX Type S's

First one is a rebuilt though. But I'm sure you can find ITR's for about ~12k. Take a look at the buy/sell section; there's a few DC2s for sale there.

hmm, interested in the rebuilt. but I am wondering what the extent of that "rebuilt" is. 2nd one, lol good luck getting 14000 "OBO no wiggle room", wtf?

If you had a bit over 12k you could maybe get this prelude, it's pretty nice.

Ahh no way dude. I am not a fan of preludes, but this car also has over 300km on the body, and I'd prefer a stock car to a modded car. Plus, it's probably been driven to hell and back.

da-suu 01-19-2011 06:10 PM

2003 and up honda accord is perfect
or rsx

Yeah, totally leaning towards RSX. Or maybe a cheap ass EK9 hatchback and pop a type R engine into it :D.

GabAlmighty 01-19-2011 06:12 PM

Get a camry.

And lol at "invest"

da-suu 01-19-2011 06:16 PM

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/bn...163045623.html

type s a spec

oh baby!

B18Hatch 01-19-2011 06:19 PM

Here's my input.

RSX Type S

Civic SiR

ITR

Integra GSR

Mazda 3

Subie Impreza

It all depends on what you want.

CanadaGoose 01-19-2011 06:21 PM

RSX-s is a good choice, just too bad it doesn't have an LSD like the 06+ Civic SI's (pretty much share the same drivetrain otherwise)

so is an Audi S4 (circa 2000-ish), if you can turn your own wrenches

B6 A4

IS300

TSX

orrr.....$2500 civic, maxima, [insert other commuter car here] etc. and a 600cc sportbike, and a wallet stuffed with leftover cash? :D

hope this adds to your list of options, good luck!

GabAlmighty 01-19-2011 06:23 PM

Here you go. Quality car.

The colour is so.... hideous.

01-05 Civics w/ a manual are well under $10k and fantastic cars, plus you'd have some extra cash for nice wheels, sound system, coil overs or whatever else interests you.
