Yup, my parent's restaurant was booked tonight and for the next few days, a bunch of students came in yesterday eating one last meal before a quick plane ride back to china/hk.

Noisy day in my village as usual, with constant fire crackers and people banging on drums and cymbals. Of course there is the lion dance that comes through at 7am tomorrow which will be fun.

Went to the night market at victoria park and it's just so ridiculously busy that you can't really do or see anything... But it's always like that so :fuckthatshit:

Some co-workers are putting red envelopes with individually wrapped almond cookies inside them for all staff in my office. Egg tarts are being bought for staff. It's not traditional food during CNY, but it's tasty.

Does anyone follow those CNY superstitions? A co-worker asked me if I'm gonna wash my hair on Jan 31st. I said "Hell no, all my good luck is gonna go away. I washed it this morning".

I'm not sweeping my floors at home either this Friday. Keeping the good luck at home and less housework. Gotta love these superstitions.

My mother-in-law said we can't "clean" the house for 15 days. WTF?

Some of these rules are ridiculous. But at the same time, now that I know about it, I feel bad going against it. You can't claim ignorance anymore.

Can't buy shoes either
