CHINESE NEW YEAR IS AROUND THE CORNER (or it could be already here)
 

so chinese new years is up right before v-day, so whats everyones plans (besides the obivous spending time with family)

very interested in how non-chinese folks celebrate chinese new year

they don't.

I believe non-chinese folks go to Chinatown to watch the Chinese New Year Parade with ton of lion dancing and firecacker noises.

We had our new year Jan1st.

actually i use to have a non-chinese folks celebrate chinese years cuz richmond has a pretty big base of chinese

i had a few non chinese friend that celebrate chinese years cuz they wanna learn about the cultures & stuff like that cuz they live in richmond where theres lots of chinese

its more like asian new years

since viets japanese etc etc are also celebrating

People eat mooncake during Mid-Autumn Festival, not Chinese New year.

and I thought Japanese folks don't celebrate lunar new year..but they don't give out envelopes to the kids on Jan 1??
