A lot of clowns and haters on this thread. Try calling Lexus USA to see if they're willing to reimburse you to have the repairs done in Canada? Otherwise, take a sick day off at work and drive it down to the states and have it done.

I have all the recalls upto date in Vancouver, but the US Lexus and CND Lexus databases don't communicate.

They said its illegal for them to let me leave the dealership without having executed all the recalls - if they let me leave and something happens they may be held liable.

I just booked it in here, saves me 2 days of travelling and hotel etc

So i think my friend got overcharged by lexus a few days ago.

He took his RX350 for a 36,000km service.

From what it looks like they did just a basic oil sevice, and ran an EFI cleaned (dont know if it was just a aditive in the fuel tank or an actual machine based service).

Anyways some how they charged him $19.00 for shop supplies and his total bill was either $350 or $380. One or the other.

He's pretty choked and couldnt argue with them because he picked up the car at later hours when nobody in service was there. Not sure if he's going to complain or not, but i was surprised to hear this.

This was a JP lexus in north shore too.

whats going on with lexus dealers?

The oil change costs about $250 with labour and oil / filter from Lexus. the remaining costs probably to do with the EFI service.

i dont think last time he paid $250 at all.

It should be much more than $100.

The RX350 only takes a conventional 0w-20 oil or something. Probably no more than 5L.

The parts and shop supplies were like $90 when the labour was $240.

still find it pretty ridiculous.

I know its an old thread,

but i am looking to bring a is250 - 09 or 10 up from the states. (probably Seattle area)

What modifications are required by Lexus? If its too much hassle and not a significant price difference, I will probably just buy it here.

TIA

^ IIRC, you need to install DRL's if they're not already on the car. Speedo also has to be in both km/h and mph, but at this point the km/h scale should be there.

Used IS250/350s are still pretty pricey down south. You're still looking at low 20s for a 2007 250. The only cool thing with the IS250s is that you can get the sport package with nav in the states (not available in Canada). Still with duties, you might as well pay that extra 2g's and get a Canadian car.

Richmond Mini has a pretty mint 2008 IS250 with the X-package for $29k. It's been listed since last fall, so they might be willing to negotiate a bit on pricing.

Thanks for the advice!

I think if I wait I can probably find a good deal in Vancouver too. Also, it seems like people are having issues dealing with Lexus when their cars are bought from the states.

Are you talking about this one?
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rc...390675568.html

I doesn't seem to have the x-package?

Also, I know the is250 is slow compared to the A4 and G37 but I think at the end of the day it is more efficient on gas and more reliable in the long run. What are ur thoughts?

In the states, 2009 IS250, A4, G37 is around the same price for a used one.

So far, I have tested a IS250 and it drives quick smooth compared to my civic

Audi and Infiniti were too busy to let me test drive unfortunately.
