i am glad you actually took care of the dog, props to you and thank you for being such a good person.

That's cuz she was going to eat it. She was just @ the supermarket to buy some anchovies, gochujang, and other necessities to rid the dog meat of its gamey taste.

Don't ask me how I know. :fullofwin:

It's a dog not a baby. What do you think dogs did when it snowed before they were domesticated?

There's a difference between a dog that knows how to hunt and find his own food and a dog that gets fed each day by their owner.

good job

great job im glad there are people out there like you

maybe try posting his picture at a local dog park? maybe someone knows him from there???

spoon.ek9 02-05-2011 07:20 PM

i was thinking of making a "found" type poster and putting it up in the area where i found him.

on the advice or others, i'm going to avoid posting on craigslist. i've been told there's a lot of scammers claiming dogs so they can sell for a profit later on. i do have some criteria i've thought about for verifying the owners are in fact the right people. however, this may already be out of my hands as the shelter has taken him in and possibly holds the rights to him now(?).

again, i'll follow up with this on monday to ask some more questions. thanks for your guys' help so far, i appreciate it!

Whats how the dog gets his food got to do with how a dog regulates it's body temperature.

let's keep this on topic guys. you can debate that issue elsewhere.

spoon.ek9 02-07-2011 09:43 AM

Update!

Well, it looks like I took the right step in dropping him off at the shelter. Poor little guy has been alone long enough to develop a bladder infection so this leads me to believe he's been abandoned. He's currently taking antibiotics to treat the infection and the shelter staff told me it's nothing too serious.

Anyways, I suppose my next update will be when he gets adopted by my friend in the near future (assuming no owner steps up). I believe the staff wants to keep an eye on him to treat any other health issues that might arise.

Stay tuned!

that dog's the cutest dog ever and from those pictures you took care of it really well =)
whoever owns the dog will hopefully call in to search for their dog! props man!

flagella 02-09-2011 06:30 PM

Found the owner yet? Wtf is the owner doing. Shouldn't they be contacting SPCA immediately about a their missing dog with the picture? I feel like the process shouldn't take this long is the owner is actively searching for it. That dog is probably happier staying at your place.

Props to you. Fck the owner.

jpoon 02-09-2011 06:33 PM

The owner might not live in the same area as where spoon found the dog...it could have walked from a completely different area. I don't know how SPCA takes care of lost/abandoned animals though...hopefully the owner IS still out searching.

spoon.ek9 02-09-2011 08:18 PM

like i was saying above, i'm starting to believe someone actually abandoned this poor dog. in order to develop an infection, he would have to have been alone for quite some time. also, no one has stepped forward as the owner so far and i found him on friday. i'm going to visit him with my friend (the one who wants to adopt him) this coming sunday.

i cannot for the life of me figure out why someone would abandon this awesome, little guy. i was saying this the other day and it's true: i only knew this dog for about 2-3hrs and it was tough for me to leave him at the shelter. he even stood against the door to say bye to me!!

good job, hopefully someone adopts him.

Ronin 02-10-2011 01:00 AM

Regardless of what happens, that dog is going to love you forever.

He looks happy as hell in that picture and from what you've said, he had probably been alone somewhere for a few days.

Vancouver240sx 02-10-2011 08:54 AM

@spoon.ek9 It is a big decision, but why don't you adopt him. After reading your posts I couldn't think of a better owner.

rich

Soundy 02-10-2011 09:28 AM

^He already said, his friend wants to adopt the dog.

I imagine spoon.ek9 will retain visitation rights :D

hotjoint 02-10-2011 09:31 AM

What kind of dog is that? It's super cute
