Apparently they also do replacements for iphones too. Not so sure about laptops cuz i forgot to ask.

I know at Staples, we have a really difficult time returning anything from Apple back to the vendor (Ingram Micro). They set return caps and will send back anything that's scratched, broken, etc. The profit margins for the retailers aren't what you'd expect ($8 margin on the 8GB iPod Touch at Staples, for example), so we'd have to sell a ton of them to make up for that 1 return that we would get stuck with.

I imagine since the Apple store likely gets them directly from Apple instead of through a vendor, it's a lot easier for them to make the customer happy without losing hundreds of dollars. Apple gives the customer a new one, refurbs and sells the old one for hundreds of dollars. Everyone wins.

If you can get them in the US then get it there... I wAs is Boston last week and they has plenty in stock and wanted to buy and sell one for 550 and still make a few bux... Kind of unfortunate they didnt have the transformer though

Not sure abt imacs, but my 2011 MBP works flawlessly with iPad2 on Facetime.

ya apple replacement policy is really lenient. my gf dropped the mbp i bought her in january and have this huge dent on the bottom case making the computer doesn't even close properly. i was quoted $300bux to fix by them i'm like ok whatever sure why not. got the case fixed, bill came up to $0. self inflicted dmg they still cover you... or maybe we just got lucky haha

i guess that is the paid version...

i see a lot of comments that it didn't work well with the imac and other facetime capable device and that is why i didn't upgrade to the paid one...oh well...yahoo messenger works fine

there's no jb for ipad 2 at the moment. as for case i'm just using the zagg back piece and the smart cover for the front.. went to the apple store the other day to do an warranty excahnge for the ipad 2.. coz it randomly freezes on me at times.. i told him i already did the fw update and everything.. the idiot tells me by pressing the update button in itune.. it doesn't really update the firmware.. i must hold the sleep/home button and enter dfu mode.. i'm like um wtf??? so ends up he won't exchange for me.. i have to go back again in a few days -.-

If you hold home sleep it restores your ipad with latest firmware.
I use the zagg front and back the smart cover still works with it

Go early in the day. Don't ask for exchange. Just tell them the problem and see what they'll do.

now that jailbreak is out, u guys know of any ipad specific jailbreak apps worth using ? all the tweaks i have now are pretty much what i had on my iphone before.. i wish someone would make a split keyboard mod in the new ios5...
