Typically the car will go to neutral so that the marshalls can roll it away, however Petrov cars couldn't go into neutral so they had to take the crane.. that really messed up the qualifying though.

I think he's going to have problems with Lewis into T1 being on the dirty side. Should be a very interesting race. Well for second place.

Awesome race today!

Webber pulled off an awesome race today

Great showing from Schumi and Rosberg

Blinky 04-17-2011 11:53 AM

Wow what an action-filled race!

Top drives by Webber and Hamilton. About halfway through the race, I was totally absolutely confused (in a good way). Webber did have an interesting postrace quote though:

So, after seeing an action-packed race, did you feel it was gimmicky with all the tire stops and competing strategies and DRS? Many of the non-DRS passes were made due to major differences in tire wear.

Can't believe the Turkish GP is upon us! Should be quite exciting meeting my buddy from Greece too haven't seen himin awhile should be a blast

Hopefully Schumi can make it onto the podium he came close last year and this time around they've got a good car... if it works right

Vettel made 1 stop and got lucky at the end when stopped they put new tires on.
and that guard shoulda stabbed him.

Great68 05-29-2011 08:36 PM

I couldn't believe that they could change tires on the cars during a red flag. They might as well not have bothered to restart, because they gave the race to vettel anyways.

ya, i thought no tire changes were allowed on a red flag.
you would have to go to the pits to do it.
which you aren't allowed on a red flag.

Eff-1 05-29-2011 09:03 PM

Vettel wasn't the only winner. Lewis was able to repair his rear wing which otherwise would have forced him to retire. I agree the red flag rules are somewhat backwards to common sense.

SkinnyPupp 06-05-2011 07:07 AM

So it looks like they'll be going to Bahrain after all.. If so, that's kind of fucked up. It's like they are supporting the regimes (don't kid yourself, races in these states are nothing more than billion dollar entertainment for these regimes)

I hope the teams boycott the race if it does happen.

StylinRed 06-12-2011 04:16 PM

Pretty good race today... i think they were being a little too safe starting with the safety car and then taking it out too early

Shame, Michael could have gotten on the Podium today :/

look at this article about Hamilton... god i h8 this cocksucker even more now

Lewis Hamilton : I'll never be dirty like Michael Schumacher
By BYRON YOUNG in Montreal 12/06/2011

LEWIS HAMILTON has vowed never to stoop to the bad-boy tactics used by brutal racers like German legend Michael Schumacher.

Even though he has been called before the stewards at five of the last six races, the Vodafone McLaren racer insists he will always drive hard but play it fair.

"I would never put myself in the same sentence as Schumacher," said Hamilton, who has it all to do today at the Canadian Grand Prix as he starts a lowly fifth.

"Never in my whole career have I ever, on purpose, tried to ruin someone's race or crash into them.

"I feel great when I pass someone cleanly and smoothly and have just outsmarted them.

"I've not done anything in the wrong way. So I don't think its fair to compare me to people who have. And I don't ever plan to be like that. I like to win fairly." Critics slammed Hamilton as "the new Schumacher" after he collided with Pastor Maldonado and Felipe Massa over two disastrous days in Monte Carlo.

Ahead of this race he apologised personally to both.

Fia president Jean Todt revealed it was only a letter of apology and a contrite visit to the stewards that saved him from a six-race ban.

Hamiton faces a crucial showdown with Sebastian Vettel in Montreal.

It's a must-win race for the McLaren ace - but his four-year reign as qualifying top dog here was blown apart last night.

Vettel put his Red Bull on pole for the sixth time in seven races while Hamilton - unbeaten here since 2007 - struggled.

"We're a long way short of where we should be," said Hamilton.

Jenson Button, starting a season-worst seventh, added: "We're usually faster on race day."

HonestTea 06-12-2011 10:28 PM
