Well I guess the planned gold dinar is not going to happen. That should be a huge relief to the US. Libya and other African countries were about to roll out a plan to only accept payment in the form of gold similar to an idea championed by hussain prior to his capture & execuation.

If you think there is no threat from the ground anymore think again. Up to this point we've used over 60,000 pieces of chaff and flare. Our guys are constantly being targeted from the ground.

Yeah, i'm sure Gaddhafi, the guy in Syria, and Mubarak are just getting bad press here in the West. Come on now, people are rising up all over the Middle East, and I dont think that it's some crazy banking conspiracy.

well with Gaddhafi im pretty confident it is a conspiracy (not the banking thing that may be stretching it' but the oil/gold dinar)

not at all with tunisia/egypt/syria/bahrain though

although with Bahrain you notice the West just turned a blind eye... even when Saudi forces invaded to take out the peaceful protesters

Did you see Gaddhafi's sons house. It had a jail cell in it. Who the fk has a jail cell in his house. Gaddhafi had to go and it had nothing to do with the Dinar.

Gaddafi killed as Sirte falls - live coverage | World news | guardian.co.uk

Quote:

12.05pm ET / 6.05pm BST: Nato commanders are recommending the Libya air campaign should now be brought to an end, according to the Guardian's Julian Borger. The formal decision will be taken tomorrow by the North Atlantic Council, representing Nato member states. Julian just received this comment from a Nato official.

A military assessment of the current situation in Libya and a recommendation for the wrapping up of the Nato operation is on its way to Nato HQ. This will most likely prompt a special meeting of the North Atlantic Council tomorrow to consider the recommendation and decide on the future of the current mission.

12 noon ET / 5pm BST: This is Adam Gabbatt in New York, continuing the Guardian's live coverage of reaction to Muammar Gaddafi's death.

The former dictator, who ruled Libya from 1969 until August this year, was killed by forces loyal to the country's new government. The Libyan government has confirmed his death. Gaddafi 69, was reportedly found hiding in a drain outside Sirte, where he and and others had taken shelter after their convoy was hit by a Nato airstrike as it attempted to escape.

A spokesman for the National Tranisitional Council – Libya's ruling body – said Gaddafi was alive when captured but died in an ambulance on the way to hospital.

Reports are also suggesting two of Gaddafi's sons were caught up in the Nato attack. Mutassim is said to have been captured. He is injured but alive.

Saif al-Islam, seen by some as the man Gaddafi wished to overtake him as ruler of Libya, is reported to be under attack after fleeing Sirte.

I was expecting same ending as saddam hussien, not just headshot and put his body on a pickup truck, but thanks god they got rid of him finally.
