^Yeah its Sunday. Sorry!
Ill try to get a mod to change the title.

Guys! We need a back up plan in case of rain!
Any suggestions for covered areas for a relatively large group of cars?

european 03-10-2011 05:32 PM

^
PriceSmart near Rupert and Grandview? Not very many cars there although lighting may be an issue. Bring your flashes.

The the old side of Metrotown? Nobody really goes there anymore. Underground parking lots around UBC may be good as well?

"Cop Shop" in Coquitlam. It's near Douglas College underneath the library/coffee shop if I remember correctly. Don't know if its still around but it should be. Fairly large parking lot, not a lot of people go there. You'd take to check it out around the same time you are trying to do the shoot.

Or re-schedule for another day?

If you know any skaters just ask them where the large undercover spots are that aren't a bust. They should know. I use to know many but I've been out of the game for a while now.

Hey, pricesmart isnt a bad idea. But it really depends on what time we go there at.

Metrotown security personell are hard-asses. They'll probably kick us out.
UBC = pay parking. Boo.

I guess if we really have to we could.
Weather reports have been inconsistant so lets just hope for the best for the time being. It was supposed to rain all day yesterday, but it cleared up at noon and the sun came out. Lol

european 03-10-2011 05:41 PM

True... After all, their predictions are just a jet stream of bullshit :) No offense to any meteorologists out here. Just a silly Larry David joke I heard a long time ago :p

What about that parking lot in New West? It's close to where you shot your Celica photos? I've never parked there but I drove by many times and always looks alright. I think I've seen an S2000 meet there once.

If you guys want to do this much later in the day there's that T&T place on Renfrew? I use to skate there when transit was free a very long time ago. I've seen people go there at night to play hockey! So much fun haha.

Dangerphoto 03-10-2011 05:43 PM

^ Shooting underground would avoid any weather! Floods do not count.:fullofwin:

Well, I think the turnout if it rains will be a lot less.
Heres a plan:
Sunny Day: proceed as planned. Probably a long shooting day and several of the proposed locations. Strobes, Rigs and all.

Rainy Day: Mini Cruise. Head over to the suggested covered locations. The world doesnt stop when it rains, so we shouldn't either. Use rain to our advantage, shoot using the rain.

Matsuda 03-10-2011 05:54 PM

lets have our meet up spot at the Timmies at Queensboro Landing? how's that sound Rich? and then we'll move out from there

RCubed 03-10-2011 05:56 PM

Sounds like a Plan. Ill update the first post

what are your guys plans for the rain ?
I mean how are you gonna prep your cars, just wipe them down once we get to the photoshoot location, or are we all going full blown naturalle and just leaving all the rain drops alone

I'm probably just gonna wash my car to at least get all the gunk off the wheels and body so the car is clean, but other than that just leave it as is, it's gonna get wet either way gonna rain good tomorrow

what you guys planning on doing?

RCubed 03-12-2011 04:34 PM

^im just gonna give it a spray to get all the dirt and mud off. Not gonna bother soaping or anything.

Im gonna shoot as is, with all the raindrops and all.

Matsuda 03-12-2011 06:34 PM

I wasnt on planning on shooting my car anyways, its filthy grey right now
