Good times = learners on your 16th birthday and regular license 30 days later.

BTW skipping is for 7 year old girls.

I fucking hated how they split my year. Everyone born before March 22 of my birth year got the 30-day license. March 22 and up? Yeah, we got shafted.

Split it at the year, or don't split it at all.

fliptuner 03-20-2011 11:22 AM

Well that was pretty fucking retarded.

jbsali 03-20-2011 12:33 PM

that test is in place for a reason. I can't believe it isn't even longer. half of people with an N still don't know how to drive..

StaxBundlez 03-20-2011 02:05 PM

just wait buddy..
don't be so eager..

You mean like half of the people without an N or L who can't drive worth a damn? You aint got any safer with the tards with full license on the road.

The 1 year length is retarded because L drivers don't DD with a supervisor in their cars because it's cumbersome to do so. They only practice once in a while. It should be cut down to 4 months maybe 6 months top. If they can't drive properly they won't pass anyways.

ImpactZ 03-20-2011 02:35 PM

please do not drive

once again, it's 2 years now not 1... they changed it in January.

Nlkko 03-20-2011 05:04 PM

It's valid for 2 years but they can take the test after 1 year, isn't it?

The learner’s (L) licence stage:
The first stage is the learner’s L stage (L) licence with restrictions to help reduce the risks while learning to drive.
After 12 months of prohibition-free driving, you qualify to take your first road test—the Class 7 road test. You can stay in the learner’s (L) stage as long as you need to. Your learner’s (L) licence is valid for 2 years, but can be renewed by re-qualifying on the knowledge test in the learner’s (L) stage. Once you pass the road test, you will receive a novice (N) licence.
To obtain a B.C. driver’s licence, you must be 16 years old. If under 19, bring your parent or legal guardian to sign for your application.

its the same as before except the fact that if you take the lessons with classroom and on road instruction then you get to take your N after 18 months rather than 24.

lol.. instead of making it longer or shorter.. they should just make it manditory to take a certian driver course.. (kinda like the old ones that allow you to opt out a few months)

I remember the days there were no L's. I was 10. :P

I remember having an L....NOT... I skipped it by having rich parents overseas. I just told ICBC that I needed to drive to take over their buisness and they were cool with it. Just ask, I'm sure things havn't changed in 10 years.

also, mercedes benzos are expensive to insure, so ask them for the 43% discount too, they usually say "sure" if you're taking over your parents buisness. It only makes sense.

Yeah, Canadian drivers suck.

Its nowhere near as strict overseas, or even in the states. I remember when i was in the UK there was basically no 'waiting' period, you can get a full license as soon as you can get the appointment booked.

Energy 03-22-2011 11:21 PM

Get a license from another country that lets you drive by yourself and when you show it to them they let you skip the L and go straight to N. That's what I did a couple years back.
