Workout Gloves Basically, every time i workout with the metal weights my hands start to sweat and the grip on the dumbell is loose and can't do as many reps since the dumbell like slides off -_-. Want to get some workout gloves but not sure which ones there's so many to choose from.. If you use workout gloves please let me know which ones and what would you rate them, thank yooooouuuu |

i have a pair of nike gloves ... got them 4 years ago and still does the job ( they were 40 dollars ) try some nikes on at sportchek |
I bought Harbinger gloves a few years ago and they have fantastic wrist support. Even though I don't wear gloves anymore, I'll still wear these once in a while when my wrist starts acting up every once in a while. Heck, I wear them to work sometimes when my wrist is sore. (Swinging a hammer with a sore wrist can be painful) If you really want to improve your grip, don't use gloves. Don't use straps either. Use chalk if you have to, either way without gloves you'll adapt and get a lot stronger with your grip. |
+1 for harbinger gloves from sportchek, well worth the investment. like others have mentioned, go gloveless for increase grip/strength but i go with the gloves for the safety of the wrist support and that my girls dont like calluses on my hands ;) |
gloves for pussies , be a man chalk it up when needed |
i started going gloveless like a year ago. its a lot better for your grip but i also swear by my pair of harbingers. the wrist support is great but it really hinders your wrist/grip development. |
Sweats his problem I don't think chalk is gonna solve that. Gloves are more practical. Any nike workout glove will do. Just head down to metro or something and check out sportchek or Nike. |
i thought they only made gloves for girls:fullofwin: |
Not sure why people keep crying out for chalk. For all you know his gym may not allow chalk to be used. All the current Nike gloves are garbage. They'll get destroyed in a few months. If your going to purchase Nike, try and find the ones pictures below. They're better than the current ones which will tear on you easily. http://files.vibio.com/Picture%206_8.png |
You can also get invisble climbers chalk if your gym doesn't allow the real stuff or if your gym complains, just tell them cocaine is a hell of a drug :troll: Posted via RS Mobile |
i workout at home cause i have all the equipment i need adjustable to 200 pounds.. where the hell would i buy chalk LOL? and so the wrist support gloves hinders your wrists from getting developed to their full potential? |
My Harbingers didn't hold up to deadlifting. I got some Nike gloves (not Jsilvers') that have more padding and stitching near the palm area which have lasted me a lot longer than the Harbingers. |
i like the nike gloves but they are really poor quality, they tear within a few months. im still gonig to pick up a new pair this week from sportscheck for the 25% off though. |
DO NOT BUY NIKE GLOVE!!! Goto wal-mart. 11 bucks for everlast gloves. last me at least a yr now. still going strong. way better than nike's |
Okay, i got a pair Altus max grip training gloves tried out lifting some weights and the dumbells don't slip anymore :D recommend it to anyone else |
i google them. they look pretty kool how much you payn for them |

@DavidNguyen they're $20 bucks, excellent grip after i tried my 60 pound dumbbell lol.. even if hand is sweaty the dumbell won't slip and that was exactly what i was looking for. |
I've had both the Nike's shown above and the Harbingers ... the nike's are nice and thin, but they have a tendency to rip (I had the exact ones posted above). They also don't provide much of a wrist support. The seam on them that ripped on both my gloves was the seam that connects the inside palm of the glove to the thumb. The Harbingers are very nice, and I can actually lift a bit more (when I started out) with them on because they help support my wrists (especially when doing chest press with dumbbells). Problem with the habingers is that the material is very thick (so it's very durable) but it can bunch up, and make little folds that hurt like a bitch with a heavy dumbbell pushing it into your skin. Harbingers are way more durable though! Mine are still going strong after a year of on/off use. |

+1 for walmart everlast gloves, not the best quality but gets the job done Posted via RS Mobile |
i run a set of these http://ucables.com/img/ipics/HARBING...-PR-R58267.jpg no wrist wraps or anything, just simple gloves i used to go gloveless but ive been wearing them more and more lately. they are nice on pressing exercises as they give a nice grippy area for the bar to sit in so it doesnt slide or roll around. alot of the bars at my gym dont have much knurl left so they dont grip as well, gloves really help for that. with gloves, the bar stays where i put it in my hand whether im pulling or pushing or whatever. my grip is really fucking good so i dont care about developing a tiny little bit of shit grip from not using gloves. so the pros out weigh the cons for me as for deadlifts tho, no gloves and i use chalk |
Harbinger are solid gloves, not sure why I never purchased them from the start. Thinking about grabbing some. Where can I get them locally? |
