Audi TT-RS vs IPL G37 vs M 1 Series Coupe TT-RS is pretty much a dead heat with the Audi R8 (!) acceleration wise - can we say underrated from the factory? Nevermind the tuning potential that the 2.5 turbomotor has... http://i.imgur.com/enRBE.jpg http://i.imgur.com/TKwzG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JJSTG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/g6rRG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/U39oX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WGyIq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ildj6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JEiIB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/njPiS.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Z8y6C.jpg |
If the TT-RS had a manual transmission option it would be perfect. Although dual clutch transmissions are actually pretty nice now. |
HOLY SHIT 3.6s Lmao the g37 isn't even in the same league.... 3720 lbs what a pig |
TT 3320 lb 335 lb 332 ft-lb 3.6 0-60 12.1 1/4 mile is that right? I would think it needs at least 400 hp to get those numbers. |
1M looks dated already |

But of course as a result, you won't be seeing those numbers... |
The 0-60 time of 3.6 sec. for the Audi TT-RS is a little misleading. The only way it can achieve those times is using launch control. If you look at its rolling 5 - 60mph time (which is 5.2 sec.), that's a better indication of its accelerating capabilities. I wish magazines would stop using launch control or clutch dumping at 5000rpms or more; or for automatics revving the engine and holding the brake pedal and then letting go of the brake pedal. Like who in the right mind would abuse their cars like that. In the real world, the Audi R8-V10 would smoke the Audi TT-RS. The TT-RS will probably hang with the R8 in a 0 - 60 drag race, but rolling acceleration, the TT-RS will get smoked. Even the BMW M1 will beat the TT-RS from a rolling start. I'm pretty sure if the TT-RS didn't use any type of launch control, it's 0-60 time would be in the high 4's. $66,000 is way too much for the TT-RS. I rather get the BMW M1 and have an extra $16,000 in my bank. |
TT-RS > BMW M1...i wouldnt even consider the G37...fat ass |
I'd take 1M. TT-RS 0-60 is ridiculous. That has to be with perfect launch control. |

For what it's worth, Audi/VW has been under-rating their engines. 200hp on a GTI is actually 200hp at the wheels. 333hp on the S4 is actually 333hp at the wheels.. etc etc (or 400+ bhp) |
BTW, here's a test mule of an Avant with the TT-RS drivetrain (rumored to be the new RS4) http://images.thecarconnection.com/m...00344978_m.jpg |
man i love the RS line. expecially the RS-5 but this TT RS is like 16grand over its competitors. too pricy |
my name WINS! MUAHAHA :fullofwin: |

damn.. thats like supercar territory for the TT RS |
66G's for a TT-RS...No thanks. the audi is not a consideration even if it had the DSG and launch control in north america. i would definitely go with the 1M. 16 G's less than the audi is a deal breaker. the g37's fuel consumption is absolutely terrible...i have friends who have the car as well and that thing vaporizes gas even with timid driving habits 5 grand over a standard g37s with only rims, a bit more power and some aesthetic touches does not justify the price! |
Makes me want a 1M even more. For the money of a TTRS, I'd rather get a M3 coupe with competition package. Posted via RS Mobile |
thats terrible, they put the G37 in there just to be embarassed |

they start at 71000 before options, taxes and freight |
the bmw is the winner here but the Audi is gorgeous imo and the numbers help but the price is like a "wtf?" |
Infiniti and their dumbass "IPL" evokes nothing but..... http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_laennpN7PP1qa15kd.jpg |
