Dominic LeBlanc is the other candidate for party leader and is also both younger and far more affable then the old lawyers that have been tossed around. He's also extremely loved by his constituents in Halifax and several of my Liberal (as in big L, party members) friends have directed my attention to him as a possibility.
Justin's already stated many times that he feels he's too young for party leadership and too inexperienced (he's only in his second term and the first one was pretty short). While 4.5 years is a lot of time to mature as a party leader, I would not be surprised if he took a pass on it now and waited a while to step up. He firmly believes that one person can not save the party, and really wants to see reform within the party, this he's stated publicly many times. And I suspect he feels that him taking over would focus the parties attention on selling him as a leader rather then making the reforms he wants to see.

It looks like Harper's insistance that Iggy would move back to the states if he lost the election was nothing more than baseless political propaganda afterall, he accepted a position teaching at a toronto university today. It's a shame that Canadian's are willing to support politicians who base their platforms on baseless speculation. Posted via RS Mobile | |

Any argument for one side or the other is a democratic argument. Let's not get crazy here. A vote is a vote and as long as you are free to make your own choice, it is a democratic one. That's called "trying to convince you that their opinion is correct." If it were otherwise, you could accuse each of the party leaders and candidates of being antidemocratic because they want you to vote for them and not someone else.
