just like every year...

My friends and I really enjoyed the fireworks that got "confused" as in went in different directions once they exploded in the sky.

Old hag bag...you're definetly QQing.

12 years streak...ur on a rocking chair remeniscing the good old days ya? Accept the fireworks for the way they are...you or no one else have any control over a huge public gathering...there are many other locations to enjoy the event.

Whats the point of questioning the motives of the sponsors? We got the fireworks for the next 2 years and its for free...clearly the sponsors know what their doing...maybe they actually see the positives of hosting such an event...and not have a cynical view like you.

You're right. Maybe I do have a cynical view. I should just enjoy the fireworks like I have been for the past 12 years.

See ya on Saturday pencil dick!! :wiggle:

the general public is helping the economy by polluting!

It seemed like Mexico at the end just kinda decided to shoot off whatever the hell they had left and it made for quite a finale :lol

LOL.. agreed towards the end.

I wasn't impressed with it though. Good intro and looked less synchronized in middle.

Although it was better than the USA showing, the Spain showing trumps all at the moment.

Harvey Specter 07-29-2010 04:09 AM

I was at english bay watching the fireworks for the first time in years and a lot of people around me were pissed with Mexico until the very end but most people didn't seem impressed.

ae101 07-29-2010 08:53 AM

i didn't really like the middle where there were these "slow" moments

& rs china fireworks meet lol

Ikkaku 07-29-2010 12:20 PM

what I really hated was with I think the second song? What a waste of time, those things barely went into the sky. Some group of brown guys beside us were talking and smoking, and then said "is the show over? where'd that shit go?" :lol

gilly 07-29-2010 12:27 PM

WHO IS GOING THIS SATURDAY?? going to be sooo crowded.

Celebration of Light 2011

Just a heads up that this year's fireworks display is going to have the option of buying tickets for seats.

Corner of Beach and Burnaby, grandstand seating. Notice only 3 nights this year. No grand finale?

July 30th:
Country: China

August 3rd:
Country: Spain

August 6th:
Country: Canada

$44 earlybird
$55 regular price

http://ticketstonight.ca/ticketstoni...ls.php?id=3500

Good way to ensure a great view I guess but $100 for a couple of seats for a 30 minute show is kind of pricey. I'd rather spend a little more and sit at the Boathouse or other restaurant or just go with the crowd. Better yet, chip in for fuel on a friend's boat and avoid the crowd altogether.

keifun 04-11-2011 05:53 PM

I would just go hang out at the beach with friends early to reserve a good spot.

nonetheless, yay to fireworks again!:fullofwin:

Vansterdam 04-11-2011 05:56 PM

i got my secret spot heheh
