there was a 2nd fire that happend 5 minutes right after this. me and my brother were fishing at foreshore park in burnaby and saw another fire go up on the long stretch of river road. looked like a torched car or something.. maybe it was connected?

Well the only reason why the construction burned down like that was that there were no fire precautions built inside yet, such as sprinklers, etc.

They are definitely gna rebuild the Remy

Kingsway and Victoria is closed off due to a huge fire at the church? Couldn't get any pictures but saw about 5 firetrucks and 6 cop cars in the area.

Update on the cause of the Remy fire????

TOPEC 05-19-2011 08:22 AM

The insurance company determined it was those industrial heaters that set it on fire so it was negligence. This came from the investigator sent by manual life.

Looks like it was three houses just behind the church... happened at around 12:30am.

Lots of times they use large industrial propane heaters to help the drying process and they'll run them at night when nobody is in the building. I don't know the building or what phase it was in but it could happen. Then again it could be arson or some other cause as well, we'll probably find out.

The type of heater I'm talking about.

Does this cause the insurance to be void?

I was looking at affordable housing listings at BChousing's website for my gf's parents when I saw this

I googled the address at it says it's at Remy's, and this is developing winter of next year so I doubt they will rebuild it.
