Every photographer needs this..

Pretty cool. I would use this myself.

Have something similar, not that great because of the weight of a dslr. Maybe better for mounting on other places besides the belt.

Senna4ever 05-09-2011 06:56 PM

Looks good for the average consumer with a small DSLR, but the parts look too wimpy to withstand professional use.

I have the SpiderPro belt system and I can easily carry a 1DmkIV with a 70-200mm f2.8L IS attached with lens pouches for about 3 lenses.

i can see someone trying to clip the camera on and misses, camera goes straight to the floor.

LiquidTurbo 05-09-2011 09:30 PM

Looks perfect for hikers!

Right now what I do when I go hiking is wear the camera like a shouder bag.. to keep the camera away from my arms.

Wearing it just around the neck is difficult and hurts after a while..

niforpix 05-09-2011 09:44 PM

I bought one of these suckers: http://www.blackrapid.com/product/camera-strap/rs-7/

I'd trust that way more over a little "belt clip" as Senna mentioned...

LiquidTurbo 05-09-2011 09:56 PM

^ that looks cool, but it looks like the camera will be all dangly and swinging around when not in use? Also, unless you need the extreme 'speed', why not just wear the regular camera strap like that? Works good enough for most cases.

The clip itself is not weak at all.. it all depends on what you are attaching it too. The clip would work perfect on a backpack or a tight leather belt.

ecchiecchi 05-09-2011 11:00 PM

^ I usually don't use straps on my camera because I hate having it hang on my neck. I also dislike having it hang on my shoulder as it slips a lot.

It actually works quite well.

LiquidTurbo 05-10-2011 09:55 AM

Will it work good for hiking do you think? I'm debating between the clip and the RC strap.

No clue....I hate hiking. :p

We've sold a bunch to people who bought it for going hiking though.

damn.. that rs7 strap is quite pricey. Just under 100 bucks.

Also, that clip thing is not for sale yet. It is under pledge lol.

insomniac 05-10-2011 05:17 PM

lol my friend has something similar to this.. he hates wearing it on his belt cause the weight of the camera+lens pulls his pants down :lol

N.V.M. 05-10-2011 05:47 PM

a camera hanging off your pants is plain stupid. i like the dual strap from BlackRapid though, which i may need very soon. :D

I got mine for about 65 dollars a month ago on amazon

LiquidTurbo 05-10-2011 08:00 PM

Supported and 'bought' one bc I like the concept. Should be a good strap when I go hiking, I can just tag it onto my backpack.

!MiKrofT 05-10-2011 09:16 PM

Yeah. I'm also looking to get a black rapide for my camera. I like the idea.

Amuse 05-11-2011 12:47 AM

I rather use the old fashion neck strap.

Ronin 05-11-2011 03:06 AM

I seriously doubt this thing will support the weight of my 1D.

Matsuda 05-11-2011 05:24 AM

I have the 2nd generation R1 strap, still going strong

it will if you clip it to something rigid, like a backpack. It's probably not suited for a 1D however.

gilly 05-11-2011 10:37 AM

i really like the idea of clipping it to a backpack strap. I go hiking quite a bit and it is always a hassle to take out my camera from the backpack.

LiquidTurbo 05-11-2011 09:55 PM

Strength test.

A look at the backpack application

Senna4ever 05-12-2011 01:21 AM

I'm more interested in a durability test rather than a strength test.

FAIL at pronouncing the word, "chassis" as "cha-sis."
