May have found a chip that rivals ThunderCrunch Jalepeno!

Since ThunderCrunch disappeared, I have been searching far and wide for an alternative that rivals their Jalepeno chips... The closest I HAD gotten was Tim Cascade's Jalepeno, but I found their recipe has gotten increasingly salty the last few times I've had it.

Blair's Death Rain Habanero chips have a good kick, but don't have that peppery Jalepeno flavour.

But I just came across this one brand, Deep River Snacks, that has a Jalepeno flavour that, from what I remember, comes close to ThunderCrunch Jalepeno. It's not TOO salty, but has a decent heat to it with a nice Jalepeno flavour. From what I remembered, ThunderCrunch had a bit more flavour and spice, but this is close.

You can find it at IGA in the hippie organic snacks section, somebody try it and let me know what they think! Or if other people have other Jalepeno chip suggestions that taste similar to ThunderCrunch please post!

Miss Vickies? Close enough in taste for me.

Ms. Vickies is too sweet and salty, not enough spice or actual Jalepeno flavour I find.

Dutch Crunch: Not a fan of any Jalpeno and Cheddar flavours. I want the pure Jalepeno taste.

Hardbite: Tried this one too, flavour was pretty good but I found the chip texture to be too thick and kinda stale/chewy; might've had a bad batch or something, perhaps.

i see sonick is the resident jalapeno chip expert on rs lol

Nah, I just miss those thunder crunch chips so much lol. Don't get me wrong about those other chips, they are good but just don't taste like the thunder crunch jalepeno chips from my childhood.

Anyone else find that the dutch chip tends to cut the inside of your mouth sometimes :(

I also have yet to find a jalapeno chip as good as Thunder Crunch.

Maybe I'll pick up a bag of those deep rivers if I see them.

Thunder crunch chips were awesome. I love the BBQ flavor most. I wonder if the states carry them.

I miss Thundercrunch. Elementary school hot dog day = $2.00 for a hot dog, a bag of chips and a pop!

IIRC thundercrunch was fried in peanut oil. Parents and schools went apeshit because a few kids had peanut allergies. Thundercrunch should put a label that says "WARNING CHIPS CONTAIN NUTS, IF YOU HAVE NUT ALLERGIES, BACK THE FUCK OFF" then all would have been well. it's the loss of the few that affects the many that piss me off. I'm allergic to fish, I deal with it by staying clear.
