I need your opinions guys.
What do you value a pair of original Jordan IV's in white and cement grey, brand new, never been worn?
However, b/c they are so old, the polyurethane mid-soles have a crack in them due to drying out I figure. How can I keep the mid-soles from cracking further?
I purchased two pairs at the time and only wore one of them. Kept the other pair in my closet the whole time.

Delatocious 02-10-2013 04:07 PM

OG's from 89 or the 1999 retro?

I think these will be all gone by release date. Since local retailers might just have a size run. You will be stuck with an ugly shoe if it doesn't perform to your expectations. Jordans are final sale (supposedly).

Well regardless whether it meets your expectations or not, you can't really return them once you wore them. With a price tag of $300, I don't think these will sell out on the first day.

There's no way to make them crack less.

These are OG's, not reproductions

Because of the crack, I'd say around $700 - $800. Without the crack they would be worth in excess of $1,000.

If they were my pair, I would do a sole-swap with a pair of Flight 89's and wear the shit out of them. That's me though...

How or who does a sole swap and how much?
I was thinking about selling them to someone else who can appreciate them.
If there was a way that I could preserve them mint without the mid-sole cracking, I would do that.

Do you think I can get anything for an original pair of worn red and black Air Jordan 1's in good shape?

I have close to 10 pairs of basketball shoes that I use currently, all of them high end performance oriented, I have a few LeBrons, few Kobes and few Durants etc...... I'm picky when I buy basketball shoes as I want the best performance out of them, don't care much about how they look.
These new Jordans from all the reviews by NBA players, and Jordan himself, from the stuff I read about them so far, it looks like it's bound to be the best performing shoe when it hits the market.

The reason you think your Kobe's are the best shoe is because of that super comfortable insole. There's a lot more than just a comfort to a performance shoe, I like the Kobe 8's and they ARE super comfy with that insole, but they lack in other fields

Yup, ever since the Air Jordan 2009's, they have been outlet bound.

No doubt that the Air Jordan is the flagship model for Jordan Brand and Nike. So performance is expected to be amazing. Style ? Well contemporary and bleeding edge, that's for sure. Price ? Yes, MSRP is gonna be the highest MSRP - that's a guarantee. That price, I cannot stomach knowing that the price will drop. And you should not either.

Jordan 2012's are around 129.99 right now at various Nike outlets. I believe some outlets have em for 89.99 (UNC colorway). These Nike Outlets also have additional 10-30% off additional outlet price when these outlets have sales.

The mystique of the Air Jordan is not as good with the sneaker community as it used to be for the simple fact that MJ did not wear these shoes in his playing days.

If you still love the new Air Jordan's, that's awesome for you since you have less competition in retrieving the shoes you want and you are able to get them at a deep discount if you are patient with the price drops.

Since the Kobe 6, I loved the performance of the Kobe's and have been converted to low cut sneakers. Kobe 7 sucked; Kobe 8, as I said earlier, is the best performance bball shoes that I have ever worn (hell I'm 30 so I got a lot of mileage in me... LOL).

So my advise, just wait it out. But if you want to have em in the court first - hey, I completely understand the feeling as well :fullofwin:.

Oh damn, is the Jordan IV OG you bought for display purposes only? Even the 1999 IV's that are DS will crack their soles if you wear them. You can't wear that anymore unless you do sole swap as Delatocious said. IMO, it's best to buy shoes that are 10+ years or older that have been casually worn so the midsole has not harden.

I bought two pairs of these shoes back in the day and only wore the one pair and kept the other in the box in my closet.
I wasn't planning on wearing them. I was thinking of selling them to someone who might collect the shoes and wanted an OG pair.

My friend from China told me about rstor and kinstor from taobao. They seems to be legit and there's tons of videos about them on youtube. You can get Jordan XI bred or Space Jam from rstor or kinstor for like $250 shipped.

I just place an order for the grape V and I'll wait and see the quality. (because Chinese new year so they won't be shipping out til like Feb 16)

RevYouUp 02-11-2013 04:56 PM

how do you place orders on taobao? wanna help me get a pair of varsity red 6s? I'll pay more than what they are selling for if it's legit.

you can use taobao agent. There's alot of taobao agents. The total will be around $250 shipped. I asked my friend to buy the Grape V for me from China, he received the sneaker like 2 weeks ago and had shown me some picture of imperfection. (I'm guessing it's B grade) But I still want to see it in person, so he will send it out after feb 16.

This guy has so many 88 Jordan 3, Nike Air Jordan 3 Retro '88, All Sizes guess where he got them from? I'm sure it's from taobao, because my friend got the 88 Jordan 3 like 2 months before it's release from taobao and he said it's legit.

Nike Air Jordan 3 Retro '88, All Sizes
