so is this the information hacked last month or a new intrusion that happened after the supposedly new secuirty system was rebuilt?

Major fail if it's the latter

TheKingdom2000 06-02-2011 05:10 PM

Wait, so to clarify, this is another attack right? So this has nothing to do with the playstation network?

So to date, Sony has been attacked twice successfully?

gilly 06-02-2011 05:18 PM

some1 really hates sony

StylinRed 06-02-2011 05:24 PM

well honda was attacked too

and lockheed martin

and i think google but im not certain if they were just talking about them being attacked in the past

"coincidentally" the Pentagon is in the works of making Hacking attacks to be considered an 'Act of War' allowing any response they see fit from the source of the attacks (even a unmanned drone attack etc ;))

This is a new intrusion that compromised SonyPictures.com, it has nothing to do with the Playstation Network. To date, the Sony enterprise has been attacked TWICE in the last month, what made this incident worse was that the file that records the 1,000,000+ user accounts was an UNENCRYPTED plain-text file.

palepilsenpin0y 06-02-2011 05:29 PM

why not?
sony is a huge company and with millions of psn users with their cc info.
and it would make sony lose a lot of face.

CC thieves would steal info more discreetly... Im thinking a kid in his basement with a personal vendetta against sony haha

TheKingdom2000 06-02-2011 06:58 PM

apparently lulzsec is a splinter cell from anon...

So they're all under the anon umbrella so to speak.

geeknerd 06-02-2011 07:00 PM

ive downloaded the torrent files
it includes 2.16 MB of users emails, adress, phone#s, passwords, in plain text .txt file
as u know 2.16mb in .txt is a fucking load of accounts i think its in the tens of thousands range

anyways i tried logging in some hotmail msn accounts and when i logged on, their DPs were troll face pics and already have 0 contacts lololol.
and i went on one person's hotmail and found boob pics of that email owner lololol.

the torrent file also contains 20 000 coupon codes. i think its for sonymusic

Mercy 06-02-2011 07:11 PM

Pics of boobs or it didn't happen

^ yeah load up and wtach em get hacked again so it will dropped even more?

twitchyzero 06-02-2011 07:56 PM

what's more annoying...Sony not safeguarding sensitive personal information or butthurt hackers lashing back cause they could not exploit their video game consoles to play pirated games?

hk20000 06-02-2011 08:09 PM

the idea was that Sony was about to sue some anons over them cracking the PS security system and letting the console run pirated/copied BDs

Sony then claimed that they "settled it out of court" instead of dropping the charges as instructed to.

Anons then waged war against Sony, saying that the Anons will not rest until Sony goes down.

http://files.abovetopsecret.com/imag...e452f03958.jpg

That's the idea floating on the internet anyway.

willystyle 06-02-2011 08:15 PM

I think what made this incident very inexcusable is that Sony didn't even bother to encrypt the user's database.

Come on.........!

dignatas 06-02-2011 08:36 PM

jesus... a big company against anon hackers... seems like sony is fucked
:troll:

CP.AR 06-02-2011 10:28 PM

sony majorly pissed some people off

If anonops is really taking action against sony because of their legal action towards geohot et al., I would love to see a known person associated with the interwebz underground get sued by the music industry (ie: 4chan creator... moot)

tr0ubl3s0m3x 06-02-2011 10:35 PM

These guys are the definition of internet warriors haha
And unencrypted? Cmon son! Bbm for fuck sakes is encrypted (I think) LOL

sony: "we big company, we keep important file in plain text"

problem?
