So everything works good, but playing some games (ie: Starcraft 2) on ultra settings my ram is almost maxed out. Turning down the graphics a bit helps but never knew that some games would suck so much ram. I went ahead and ordered another 4gb.

Hey Geby, are your 200mm case fan quiet/loud?
The front 200mm case fan on my 650D is making this annoying buzzing sound and I finally switched it out for CoolerMaster 200mm MegaFlow 200mm fan. I think the problem might be a design flaw of the honeycomb holes in front of the fan. Anyway, now it's smooth and quiet (minus the ricer red LED on the fans. I really liked it without the stupid LEDs) and I feel the need of replacing the 2x120mm fans on the H70. LOL.
BTW if you are looking to switch out the 200mm fans I found an awesome price for them. under $9 for the Coolermaster Megaflows.

Geby your set-up looks boss

noob Q but I know most builds all seem to go the SSD for OS + HDD for storage route...how would that benefit, say gaming?

I'm assuming you have to install 10-15GB per game to get the benefit...wouldn't that fill up the pricey SSD really fast? Or do i totally have this logic wrong?

Alot of people cut out the "grill" to the fans, mine actually are not to terrifyingly loud, im sure aftermarket fans would prolly flow more and be a bit quieter. I use to game on a Alienware M17x w/ an i7-920xm OC'd and that was unbearingly loud. So this computer is super quiet compared to that lol.

What are the specs on the megaflows?

Umm, I save some games I play alot on the OS (SSD) the loading times are improved alot! Other than that I keep all my games/etc on the storage drive, its huge compared to the SSD. The main reason for the OS being on a SSD is the amazing boot times.

COOLER MASTER Megaflow 200
Great reviews too!
RPM-700 RPM
Air Flow-110 CFM
Noise Level-19 dBA

Yeah I've also read that cutting out the grill helps but I just can't see myself doing that. I like to leave it in case I want sell the case lol.

i got all my parts from memory express while price beating for an extra 5% off

most of the time 5% was better than 25% of difference

this is what i did
connected hd and ssd to same color sata 3 ( the intel one )
set bios to raid
installed windows on hd
installed drivers from cd
enabled the SRT in the intel program

everything worked up to this point and then when i reboot it says boot drive not detected

When I enabled SRT it had to migrate for a bit. Did it do that for you? Also when you boot does it show one drive or still the two drives? In your bios is there a XHD raid option? Also try hitting f12 when you boot and select your hd that way.

Got this from another site:

Quote:
i solved it by:
1. disconnect ssd from the motherboard.
2. configure sata as raid in bios.
3. install windows 7 64 bit + drivers.
4. install intel RST 10.5
5. connect ssd to the motherboard.
6. configure the ssd in the intel RST.

^thats good man, you notice a speed diffrrence?

Well got my Megaflows and the front fan was easy enough to replace, have to move the harddrive tray over, but the top fan is a no go. The mega flow is too thick for the space.

Anyone have experiance with the Noctua NF-P12's?

Wow. Awesome rig! I'm in the process of building my first rig. 2600k for $99 USD from Intel's summer deal is hard to pass up.

Sorry for thread jack.
But I need upgrade suggestions for CPU, Mobo, Case and Power Supply.
Current CPU: Intel Core i3 530 Dual Core
Current Mobo: Gigabyte H55M-UD2H
Current Power Supply: 400w not sure of the brand.

I was looking at a few ncix bundles.
http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...s&promoid=1336
This case: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=58078&...acture=Corsair

I'm not to sure on what power supply to go for. Something that's good for cable management i guess.

Thx in advance guys!

@geby
compared to my laptop that ive been using for the past 6 months hell yeah my new pc is fasttt

@604778
thats a decent i5 bundle and make sure to go memory express to pricebeat for another 5% off what ncix advertises
if you want good cable management psu go for the corsair AX series they are fully modular
