Seeing all you guys upgrading to sandybridge makes me want to make the jump too. But I just upgraded to 1156 socket 4 months ago from a two year old E5200

And the motherboards sockets will be compatible (LGA1155)

Why were you selling it? I read that eco and corsair now make thier coolers together (H60, H80 + H100).

PSU's really depend on how many HDD's, which GPU's, etc you're using. I've been using my Corsair TX650W for quite a few years now. Although I do suggest maybe a Corsair HX series because it's modular and will help alot with cable management.
Kinda another topic,
Does anyone have feedback on newer OCZ PSU's? Reliable? I have an old school modular OCZ from 10 years ago that's still running strong. Looking at pricing OCZ's seem cheaper than the Corsairs.

I guess for entry level cooling it's a deal. I picked mine up for pretty damn cheap with ME price beat. I ended up setting it up in push/pull configuration to get the CPU running cooler.
I'm at like high 20's/low 30's on idle with it barely oc'd @ 3.8ghz. I tried oc'ing to 4.4ghz and the temps went up huge. Like low 40's on idle.
Hmmm maybe should start a new RS CPU temp thread so people can compare each others temps.....

My cpu at 4.8ghz @ 1.3 idles around 40 - 48 degree on my H60 with push-pull dual fan setup, but on full load i hover around 68-69C, which is a good mark to aim, i forgot but are you running i7 2600k? if you are, then its normal that our temps are a bit higher due to hyperthreading
you can turn off hyperthreading and your temps would drop down by a good 5C or so, but turning off hyperthreading makes our i7 2600k into a i5 since we lose the 4 imaginary cores

This is a great 400w PSU for the price: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...c&promoid=1338
I know some of the Corsair PSU's are re-branded Seasonics. From every review I've read people have chose the Corsair PSU's over the OCZ's. The Corsairs power delivery is constant and consistent.
As for Corsair series; The AX is the most efficient (Gold standard) and it's fully modular. The HX is modular except for the 24pin and CPU power. The TX is the non modular version.

are you increasing multipliers only or blk as well?

Just multiplier, I think my BCLK adjust's automatically. Im still running turbo, I've read some ppl disable turbo and run all 4 cores at 4.4ghz? I gotta read some more before I jump into it deeper. My idle is at 35ish degress and full load is at 56ish degrees running prime95 for 3hrs.
Some 2500k's can hit 5ghz comfortably where as some can barely hit 4.5.

dun think your BCLK should adjust automatically, from what i've tried and read, should keep the BCLK at 100 till you finally find the limit of your OC to VCORE ratio, and you can up the BCLK a bit to squeeze out couple more out of your current oc

Cman333, whats your temps for load (push pull)? Also, which fans are you using on it? | When I clocked at 4.4ghz I was getting temps in the high 70's running OCCT. While gaming I was getting low 70's. I think it has to do with the Vcore because I haven't figured out how to lower/raise it. I do it in BIOS, but it still reads 1.39v no matter how I set it in BIOS. I haven't had the time or patience to read that long ass thread on how to OC it yet.
@ 3.8ghz I'm getting temps of low 70's with OCCT. Average of high 60's while gaming.
I was getting temps of high 80's with the stock cooler while running OCCT and OC'd @ 4.0ghz.
I'm using one fan that it came with, and using an Antec 2200RPM 120mm
GEBY> 56 at full load??? Do you mean the CPU case temp or core temp? That's nuts. I don't even get that at factory 3.4ghz setting on my 2600K

here is my cpu-z layout thing: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1881538
Is it only saying my ram is at 1064.3 MHz because its dual channel?

Well I'm up to 4.7ghz @ 1.4v hottest core is at 67 degrees and lowest is at 63 degrees.
I was stuck at 4.4 for the longest time until I changed the Load Line Calibration to level 4. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1882820

Ok fuck this shit is so bloody complicated. I don't understand 70% of what they're trying to explain.
I adjusted core multiplier to 44x
vcore I manually adjusted to 1.33v
Disabled advanced cpu features (c1e, eist, c3/c6, cpu therm monitor)
Works fine BUT in BIOS it says 1.355V, in Everest is says 1.39V, CPU-Z says 1.044v???? OCCT gives the same readings as Everest
So I tried LLC Level 1 and the comp won't boot into Windows. It basically freezes while loading windows.
So now back to Factory settings of 3.4ghz

Yeah my cpuz says 1.104v. My bios is at 1.38v.
I had a bsod just a bit ago x124. Some ppl say mess with the VTT, and some ppl say increase voltage.
