it's not about the car. they're trying to stop people from being idiots
if you could see past inanimate objects, you'd understand

Another thing, if everyone thinks like you do then the riots could have been much worse. Imagine if everyone was thinking "Oh, I shouldn't get involved its none of my business that the city is burning". Its thinking like that that leads to bystander syndrome.

True most people will just stand by and watch but those that actually tried to help out are heroes and we shouldn't berate them for that however stupid it may seem to the less brave of us.

Send me the video, I did pretty well with my car :)

He is at 1:53. Sorry if someone else posted this up already.

As mentioned before, those two girls defending the car didn't get beat down because they're girls, if it was 2 guys, for sure they would've had their asses handed to them by a mob.

Agree... It turned backwards in Haiti during the earthquake where the looters were the ones getting the mob treatment.

Later on in the night i saw the same girl trying to pick a fight with another dude but everyone told him it wasnt worth it. Then i heard from some other people that girl was tryin to pick fights all night.

i don't know if it's the same brown guy, but my friend told me he witnessed a brown guy punch out a white girl for no reason, she was down for 20-30 minutes

i think fining them is as close to reparations as we'll see.
besides, for the most part, the correctional system does not do what its name insists it to. but that's a whole other thread

Which was exactly what I posted and StylinRed failed.

Once convicted, I wouldn't be surprised if the City sends them or their parents a bill for some of the damage to the city/police vehicles. I can even see ICBC sending some of them a bill for the torched cars. But that is nowhere near what people are asking for in terms of making an example out of the guilty people.

I'm surprised no guys stepped up to the plate to help the girls protect that car. Would have scored them some brownie points and their phone numbers.

I don't know him personally, hes a friend of a friend.
it's the my same video I pulled his picture from

At 5:10 if I remember correctly, hes wearing a black t-shirt has a lanyard or necklace around his neck. The name I had in mind was James Ha, who has removed his facebook yesterday (I posted and reported all this information to the VPD, various facebook groups yesterday, coincidence?). I know he goes to SFU, and someone has told me he works at the Steve Nash in Langley (I also linked a photo of him from facebook working out at the Steve Nash). Which YMCA did you have in mind?

WRONG. i have 2 younger sisters, i would have bitch slapped them both if they did anything that stupid.

women are not men. in a mob like that, women can and have been raped in crowds. by the time people figure out what's happening, she's already raped.

add in the fact that there were people who had no problem hitting women, then you realize how stupid you are to risk your life for a piece of property.

at the end of the day, big dudes were getting punked by crowds. it only takes 1 crazy bitch to hit 1 of these girls and they get lost in a crowd of punches, kicks and hairpulling.

I really doubt that these people could pay for any of the damages. I think it is more realistic that they are forced to do some sort of extensive community service.

van_driver 06-18-2011 01:04 PM

any word on how ICBC is dealing with these car claims?

knowing ICBC, they'll tell their customers to piss off

Talking about two separate dudes. James Ha has been report by numerous other people. SFU student.

Then now another Asian rioter pictured in a blue shirt has been ID'd. YMCA guy is not certain though. Can't confirm.

So, the kid getting tackled is a year younger than me and attends the highschool near me. Currently in Grade 12. He was identified and arrested on the last day, expelled from school and won't be graduating. Has an upcoming court date. Name is Arian A.

The saddest thing that fucks with me about the chicks protecting the car especially, is the huge mob of onlookers standing around with their dicks in their hand. And usually a camera or phone in the other. If a few more people get involved like those chicks, the fucks intent on causing problems could have been outnumbered. The riot was honestly ONLY possible due to this.

I also have a younger sister, if she were one of them I would have been proud of her.
