Years from now we'll be wondering how we ever solved crimes without Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc. They'll think of the past to have such archaic methods..

Yep, exactly what I thought since I'm using my personal Twitter and Facebook accounts, written on my own blog and where I blog about hockey...heck, my real name is 50 pixels down.

That's a great idea that schools recognize that we need to teach kids about this crap. So many 16 year olds were down there kicking shit.

...well, I guess as long as the elementary school kids don't go down there and go "COOL!"

A young rioter caught on film trying to light a police car on fire in Vancouver on Wednesday night has been identified as an elite athlete who was headed to the University of Calgary on scholarship.

The Grade 12 student from Maple Ridge, a wealthy suburb of Vancouver, attends a private school and plays water polo on Canada's junior national team.

Ok... i know Maple Ridge has been growing quite nicely in population (pitt meadows has business wise)

but when in the hell has Ridge ever been considered a "wealthy suburb" :crazy2:

aragingbull 06-17-2011 05:09 PM

he has been suspended from the water polo team (was on the news about an hour ago):

UPDATE: Water Polo Canada has released a statement saying that they have suspended a member of their Jr. National Team due to their involvement in the Vancouver Riots on Wednesday. They said that the player "...has contacted [them], through his legal counsel, to indicate that he will cooperate fully with the disciplinary process.”

I think Dustin Anderson just dug his own grave.

Good for them!!!

Now let's see if UBC follows suit with it's (future) students.

Ford_Fanatic 06-17-2011 05:12 PM

ROFL at the internet detectives trying to bring these guys to justice.

The ONE opportunity for "justice" came and went that night when the riot squad failed to crack skulls. The VPD completely dropped the ball.

The only other way to hurt them is financially, and I doubt these guys would have two pennies to rub together if the city sues them for damages.

Even if they do get caught, would the majority of these douchebags really care about a few months in jail? I think not.

You might hear about a few arrests in the next couple days, one or two the week after and soon everyone will forget about the riots... until the next time we have a game 7 for the Stanley Cup.

The teen's father, a surgeon in B.C., told CBC News on Friday that the Grade 12 student will be "doing the right thing" by turning himself in.

He added that he wishes that his older son had been there that night to look out for his 17-year-old.

What the father also needs to do is,tell the older son to kick this kids fucking ass for being so stupid and discracing his family.
