i would feel slightly better knowing we lost to an eventual cup winner lol..

i can't believe how well the Kings are doing against St.Louis though.. stupid Blues were parading to the penalty box last game and it cost them (much like the Canucks in game 1).

because it seems when the canucks are doing so well then fall apart everyone gets in an uproar, like the riot. This year we went into the play offs with injuries and a lot of tight games just before the playoffs. *1 goal games* with the odd exeption. If we would have went into the playoffs dominating teams i think there maybe would have been even more questioning from the media, fans, and possibly managment.

just an opinion/thought

spoon.ek9 05-03-2012 08:17 PM

4-2 kings :okay:

not saying another riot but i think there would have been a lot more questioning on who needs to go and who needs to stay with the team.

No it wouldn't have. Had we won last year and then suddenly go on a 10 year funk, the fanbase would still have that everlasting memory of "that one time."

It's funny how sentimental this board has gotten with Luongo and Alain Vigneault all of a sudden. What made people think that the 1 great run we had last year is the team's performance standard? And not the 3 or 4 years surrounding that where we would get bounced by the same team twice over and the LA Kings

(yes they're a good team but don't tell me we didn't have the personell, the skill, the talent to overcome them and should've been a better team). I mean, just look at the 2nd to the last game of the season where we had a chance at the President's Trophy by going against Calgary. Losing to a team who was well out of play off contention and had absolutely nothing to play were well enough indications that this team has latent problems.

cliffhanger33 05-03-2012 08:29 PM

Mann, Kings is gna take a 3-0 lead in the series. I guess that makes me feel a bit better about the Canucks...

No, this city would not accept a 10 year slump after I cup winning year. Although I agree with a lot of your points, and what you said above is far fetched. So what your saying is if we won the cup last year you would be content if we didn't make the playoffs this year?

We have the Vancouver Whitecaps which are currently enjoying a winning record in only their 2nd year in Major League Soccer.

Tickets are cheaper, the game is more accessible, and the atmosphere is fan-driven. The 'Caps also feature a world-class back in YP Lee (EPL and World Cup) and another world-class mid-fielder is coming in June, Barry Robson (UEFA Champions League.)

Unfortunately, this town is a Canucks town. :troll:

LOL LA one loss in 8 playoff games? Yikes.

Please don't use "world-class" for any MLS player. Barry Robson is coming from a team that plays in England's 2nd tier league. It's like the AHL to the NHL.

Beckham's more celebrity than footballist.

kwy 05-04-2012 12:38 AM

Um..soccer. :fuckthatshit:

Porschedog 05-04-2012 12:47 AM

Beckham has a salary higher than the whole Whitecaps team combined.. :fuckthatshit:
