phoenix vs new jersey? seems possible...

so i was at hfboards and reading that pens fan want to trade away malkin because of the emergence of staal...hmm...possible way of getting him here? cap space might be iffy but this is the canucks with the staff that could pull this type of wizardry....

Keyword is fans.

They don't make the decisions.

ForbiddenX 05-07-2012 10:29 PM

I'd like to see Phoenix come up on top in the west instead of LA..

they would be completly retarded to trade away Malkin. Fleury shits the bed and there solution is to trade away Malkin.... that makes sense.

spideyv2 05-07-2012 11:05 PM

And Malkin won the Conn Smythe trophy in 09 lol

If anything, trade Fleury. The guy had a Luongo breakdown this year.

Statistically, LA will win the cup. They beat Vancouver.

It's the playoffs, statistics don't mean a thing. Anything can happen, all rounds up to now have proved this.

AzNightmare 05-08-2012 01:05 AM

Isn't there an NHL feat that has never been done before where a team has won the cup by playing against a higher seed team in all 4 rounds?

With '94 Canucks being one of the teams to almost have done it?

Kings could be the first team to do this. (If I'm not mistaken that this hasn't been done before already)

I believe you are right

Pretty sure LA is the first 8th seed team in NHL history to knock off the 1 & 2 seeds.

Kesler
Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President and General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that centre Ryan Kesler had successful shoulder surgery to repair torn labrum.

“After consultation with our team physicians following the playoffs, it was deemed that Ryan would require a procedure on his shoulder,” said President and General Manager, Mike Gillis. “We expect a full recovery and determined this procedure would best serve both Ryan and the team’s long term goals.”

:suspicious: All of a sudden all of the original six teams have been winning it all... Detroit, Chicago, Boston and now New York?

That theory will be broken when it's the Leaf's turn.

spoon.ek9 05-08-2012 12:11 PM

I hope Kesler doesn't rush his return like he did with his hip this year.

DanHibiki 05-08-2012 12:25 PM

Sucks about Kesler's shoulder injury. Another off season of rest and rehab to throw off his training like last year. Hopefully he gets at least a month before training camp to do his 100+ shots a day again.

So rumour has it, Ohlund is set to retire. He has millions left on his contract - about 11.75 million broken down as (5,3.75,2,1), averaging out to 3.607 cap hit a year.

If he does, wonder what it means for their cap situation. Depending on what the rule is, that free up some space. Maybe it gives them the space they need for another big contract, while keeping Vinny.
