He does it on purpose. His biggest one was when Patrick Roy played goal for the scabs. He kept calling him Roy, as in Radar Roy, instead of Wa, as in Voila.

He was corrected many a times and one day he said he was going to call him Roy like the spelling of the name. The French were not amused - that and his visor comment.
