Are they only doing this to mock the leafs on national TV? As "just another day at the office" :hotbaby:

Kilinim 02-18-2012 09:32 PM

No. They didn't celebrate because they're sportsmen. No need to celebrate in a blowout.

I may be old, but that pic can be one hundredth that size and I can still see the tits.

j/k I just spread my fingers on the trackpad to zoom in (after I noticed the tits).

holy fuck was a sick atmosphere at the game today. got pretty buzzed and had a great time. fans were all heckling eachother but it was in good fun. leafs fans were so loud and obnoxious in the beginning of the game, and then after the 1st they just stayed quiet. sick game

Vale46Rossi 02-19-2012 12:12 AM

I still don't get why they throw fish on the ice :( seen it a few times

spoon.ek9 02-19-2012 12:28 AM

well probably a few reasons..

bc salmon being a part of Vancouver, a coho for CoHo, etc

MG1 02-19-2012 01:39 AM

The salmon has been a tradition with the Canucks - well since 1994 playoffs.

Ever since Detroit Red Wings fans started the octopus thing in the 1950's, fans from other rinks have been doing all kinds of other shit. Florida Panthers threw rats onto the ice because a player killed a rat in the dressing room before a game they won - it spurred them on to many a wins. The Detroit thing with the Octopus was because back then, it took 8 wins to take the cup (8 tentacles of the octopus).

The salmon signifies the west coast, the legendary struggles of the Pacific Salmon, etc. I remember the salmon being thrown during game 6 of the 1994 Stanley Cup finals (Pacific Coliseum.

I just hope today's salmon was not a fricken farmed Atlantic Salmon, but the real thing.

bloodmack 02-19-2012 03:49 AM

I actually like this new lets just keep a straight face and not celebrate. Probably confuses the shit out of the other teams lol.

b0unce. [?] 02-19-2012 08:31 AM

that's insane, james neal re-signed with pittsburgh for 5M/year for 6 years. I figured he would get a pay raise, but didn't expect 5M.

:lol

I thought the exact same thing. 5/year is a lot for someone who's only been that good for ONE season.

spoon.ek9 02-19-2012 10:48 AM

they better hope he's not a bust after this season

jeedee 02-19-2012 10:52 AM

I forgot the team's playing Edmonton today at 6PM pacific time!

Schneids in net

RiceIntegraRS 02-19-2012 10:57 AM

Well he is pretty much a proven 20goal scorer. playing with Malkin, he will continue to be pretty easily. I think the pens are banking on the fact that he will probaby be a 40 goal scorer in this league and at 5mil a season that would be a bargain.

The Panthers player was Scott Mellanby. I don't remember specifically but I think he had a monster game, scoring a hatty? and then went on some crazy scoring streak. Played his best hockey there

Love the business like approach (no big goal celebrations).

Enjoyed the game especially since my gf returned my Canucks jersey to me with Kesler 17 on it for my birthday on Friday! :D

Hopefully we will see another solid effort tonight.

Yeah, it was great yesterday...still recovering.

The business approach all the way to the holy grail.

Nice to know they are starting Schneids to try to keep everyone sharp.
