I'd cheer for any American team over the Leafs or Flames too if they ever made the finals :D

DanHibiki 02-20-2012 04:43 PM

I'd take hitler over the leafs

Mike Oxbig 02-20-2012 04:51 PM

Im sure the whole country had our back. Its just the stupid media and don cherry cheering for the Boston Bruins. A lot of you guys here were cheering for the flames & oilers deep down during their cup run too. Ill cheer for the leafs against any given american team if they make it to the finals, regardless the roster. :accepted:

I think they did polls and asked people in our parts of Canada if they were cheering for us and the majority were not.

Ya we were cheering for the Flames and Oilers back then but that was different. They were big time underdogs who weren't even supposed to make it into the playoffs.

We, on the other hand, are a good team and have been for years and went into the playoffs as the best team.

kwy 02-20-2012 10:01 PM

Washington has been on a serious skid as of late.

Ronin 02-20-2012 11:39 PM

If you mean this entire season, then yeah.

kwy 02-21-2012 12:06 AM

Don't forget they started the season on a tear. Not that it really matters anymore..

All time stats for most career points in a Canucks uniform:

Regular Season - Vancouver Canucks - All Skaters - Career for Team - Career Points - NHL.com - Stats

Henrik needs 4 points to pass Linden for #2 all time, and 27 points to pass Naslund for #1, with 23 games remaining. Seems do-able.

Wow Bure is the only one that had an average of more than 1 pt per game for the Canucks.
Oh how I miss Bure and his breakaways :okay:

Oh how i wonder what Bure would have been if he didnt get hurt
The way he plays just screams for injury. Skates low, drives hard. And with all that hooking and obstruction during his playing days, im not surprised he got mauled down a lot.

One of his best assets was his speed. He is two strides to full speed when he skates. Russian Rocket indeed

WOW @ Henrik being +181, Daniel +167, Burrows +113. Also, Beast is already 16th on the list and Monster is 25th :fuckyea:

And look at Linden's stats! 318 goals for us, 1140 regular season games played :)

Nope. It was the NHLPA poll. That means the NHLPA gave the poll to all the players in the league and then the players if they wanted voted. HNIC had nothing to do with it besides reporting the outcome of the votes. Colorado, Vancouver and a couple other teams declined to participate in the voting

This poll is done every year with a small sample of players
and not everyone

dbaz 02-21-2012 10:31 AM

Yup but seemed rxxtar thought it was a poll done specifically by hnic and limited the vote to players playing on hnic

RRxtar 02-21-2012 10:58 AM

i just assumed it was conducted by HNIC due to this wording "Earlier Sunday, Hockey Night in Canada released the results of its players poll. "

made it sound like the poll was conducted by HNIC

Yeah, that guy was money. I agree one of his best asset was his speed but he can also handle the puck or shoot at that pace which is very rare.

Another thing is he can play a tough game and held his own.

Too bad his injury never healed enough to let him play the way he did like for Selanne.
