Also, yes, you can load up but you have to consider the cap. Paying 1st line money for a 3rd liner is stupid. The 3rd line doesn't play as many minutes. You're just wasting money. It's like "Hey, let's sign Sidney Crosby so he'll play on the 3rd line, guys!" What the Canucks have done is the correct approach...look for high-end, roleplaying guys like Manny Malhotra...an "elite" 3rd liner in that he's better than most of the 3rd liners in the league except guys that are 1st liner but have to play less minutes because someone extra awesome is ahead of them (like Jordan Staal).

i was thinking if we trade ballard, dont resign salo
we just miiiiiight squeeze somethign to sign weber
but yea getting weber would mean a big overhaul to our roster
once to get his rights
second to fit him under cap
so most likely, it wont happen - if gillis does make it happen all while making us competitive ... please someone give him the key to the city

By the way, could you imagine how fucking awful it would be to play against a fourth line of Clutterbuck, Lappy and Dustin Brown? Goddamn shit disturbers but Clutterbuck had 35 points and Brown had 57. Combine that shit with Lappy's troll face powers...BOOOOM MOST ANNOYING LINE EVER.
Getting Weber will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER happen. Firstly because Nashville would be fucking insane to not resign the best player to ever play for their organization. Secondly, Gillis isn't stupid. To sign Weber, we would need to offer him $7m at least as an offer sheet NSH can't match and THEN we would have to give up FOUR first round picks for him.
It will never happen. It's as likely as us trading for Crosby. We can joke about it but those of you thinking it's even a possibility...I want whatever you're fucking high on.
