The new Superman film is going to be a huge production and budget, that along with GI Joe 2 and the Matt Damon sci-fi flick, Vancouver's film industry is in for a busy and lucrative summer/fall. The HST is working

Let me rephrase - YOU're in for a busy and lucrative summer/fall.

It's the Canadian dollar that's killing Hollywood North in a major way.

Actually it's the HST referendum that's killing most productions. If the HST is voted down most productions will go to Ontario where the tax credits are much more lucrative. If producers can save money on a film they'll go where ever.

When the HST was implemented last year, there was a 400% positive increase in filming. EVERYONE was working and there were 2-4 shows always filming downtown every other week. Now its 1 every so often.

When Superman comes to town, it will be mostly all interior filming since most of the exterior was filmed down in the USA.

GI JOE 2 sounds like a road movie, meaning most of the filming will be outside the Metro Vancouver area. Filming in the Interior of BC and up near Ashcroft/Kamloops.

Fringe Season 4 starts up July 14th for another 10 month round of filming.

Does Tom Cruise ever age? Scientology doing more for him than Brad Pitt.

I've been waiting for this one for a while. Hard to tell from the trailer that it was shot in Vancouver. It always sucks when I watch a movie that's supposed to be set in some other country and then I recognize a place that I just went to a couple of hours ago.
