Going without a Task Killer is like not having CTRL+ALT+DEL on a computer.

Sure, you might not need it 9/10, but when you do, it'll save you the trouble of having to do a hard reset.

A lot of task managers cause memory leaks in Android phones.

Here is a read:

FAQ: Why You Shouldn’t Be Using a Task Killer with Android

I use advanced task killer but after reading that article I'm going to see if there's a different not using it

Hey guys I took a bit of a gamble and grabbed a bluetooth obd2 adapter for my android to use with torque ... there's some adaptors that work, and some that don't work at all with torque. Just a mini review of my adaptor, which works flawlessly:

I bought Bluetooth ELM 327 off amazon.com and used it with the torque app on my xperia. So far, the thing works flawlessly and I was able to pull and erase codes successfully on my 2004 accord (CEL on for a loose gas cap), and on my jeep. It doesn't work with some ford ECU's ... but for $20 it worked really well for me on my honda and Jeep :) Also it updates and refreshes the data quite quickly, and if you have a mount in your car for your phone, it gives you all your vital stats at a quick glance.

Worth it if you just buy it to clear codes, all the other features are a bonus (in torque you can input your vehicle weight, and do 0-60, 1/4mile, and even horsepower tests, which are pretty accurate as they take into account vehicle weight etc.)

In my opinion it's a must for a car person. You never know what the CEL is for when you get it, and some CEL's (especially emissions ones) can be caused by something so trivial like a loose gas cap. Lots of peace of mind for $20!

someone school me on GO LAUNCHER EX and why I should ditch my LauncherProPlus...

seeing more and more about it...

!Yaminashi 11-10-2011 08:16 AM

I use go launcher ex, not because I think its the best but because it was the first one I read about that seemed decent.

What do you wanna know about it?

Main reason I think is cause its free. I don't think it does any better than launcher pro plus. They also added go locker which is their answer to widgetlocker. I personally use adw launcher ex. Seemed to work better for me and I can lock my desktop from accidental changes.

!Yaminashi 11-10-2011 08:53 AM

After doing a bit of reading, apparently go launcher ex is the most customizable. There's a ton of themes on the market and I know for a fact theyre always updating go launcher ex

One reason - it's being updated more frequently. LauncherPro's growth has slowed down with Fede supposedly working on a rework for over a year now that would "change Android users' views on launchers". I really don't see how his re-work version would be any different than the current LauncherPro or Go Launcher EX.

They're essentially the same and Launcher Pro Plus also has the themeing capability. GO Locker is a plus, but who needs that when you have MIUI :D

Tim Budong 11-10-2011 12:27 PM

so aside from crazy customization, theres not much else
widgets resizing and overlapping are important
does it do that?

btw..i can't stand MIUI..i tried it on long ago...
Cyanogen was just so easy!
