10lb is nothing.. unless your a 10 year old girl.. >.>
But some of that stuff is pretty useless the accesories.. would rather have some sort of explosive round or more bullets.. or even a door ramming attachment XD

While we're on the subject. What IS legal in canada? For some reason, I feel the urge to get armed up, just in case.
Right now, I've got no survival gear at all. I don't even stock canned food. 2 days without power or supermarkets and i'm royally screwed.
I'm thinking:
- firearm (shotgun? rifle?)
- combat knife
- decent leatherman
- water
- and enough MREs for immediate family

Problem 1: guns make loud noises. Loud noises attract more zombies. With a whopping 19 rounds, you're probably fucked, especially with those specialty rounds.
Problem 2: Using your gun to store all those essential tools means they must go back in the gun when you're done with them. For starters, that's extra weight in your hands that could be much more easily carried in a backpack. In addition, this means that if you have to leave in a hurry, you have to fit all that crap back into those small compartments that they barely fit in to begin with. Which means if you get caught off guard, you're gonna end up leaving things behind.
Problem 3: Having the knife all the way out near the end poses two problems. First, it's hard to access in a pinch, if something grabs hold of the gun or knocks it away from you you're screwed. Second, you're carrying that weight as far away from you as possible, meaning it's creating more torque. This isn't a bit deal short term, but long term that's unnecessary strain on your arms.
It's more of a cool display of what all you can store with just a shotgun than something I would use for survival. A good read either way.
