Yea I realize they all fail. That's why I don't want to pay $200+ on jack that will leak.

I even googlde snap on jacks for 300+: all made in china.

but don't fool yourself that there isn't such thing as a quality jack made in china.

i bought a michelin all aluminum low profile jack ~6 years ago. it's what i would call my workhorse jack. its i high end piece that isn't made anymore to my knowledge but it's made in china. one pump to seat ftw.

if i could find another one i would buy one in a heart beat. they used to sell at canadian tire for 300. now the michelin stuff they sell is just run of the mill stuff.

So I ended up getting this:

$89 on sale at KMS. this thing is solid. It looks like it can take a beating. It's low pro and racing style. Only con is it weighs 38kg.
Also got two jack stands for $15.
Lowered my car with it and so far really impressed.

looks like a good jack, cant really read the printing but its a 3ton jack? i got the blue princess auto jack a little while back and its not as low as i need it to be, most the time i still have to drive up on a couple of 2x4 planks. i also dont like that the jack gets stuck sometimes and wont go all the way down, sometimes i have to press on the car to push it down that extra mm so it doesnt scratch my car.... also doesnt hold very long (20 minutes) before the hydraulics give out and fails (my bigger jacks do that too after a year without servicing but are fine after, this one does it right out of the box)

BUT.... its light and nice for quick jobs to get the car up in the air and put it on jackstands. nice to move around and you can carry it with 1 hand, if a need to help a friend with a flat on the road somewhere thats my go to jack

ps. im talking about the blue princess auto jack in case the picture in the quote confuses anyone

The one S300ae bought from KMS tools is really good. It is rated for 3 tons which is more than enough for mid-sized suv's.

Any comments on the jack stands in the car and driver magazine? It's 12.99 for the pair.

And a torque wrench for 9.99

You cannot stack the coupons, when I bought the jacks at the Bellevue location, they were already discounted.

Took the last 3

Probably has plenty of stock in the back room.

$100 is pretty cheap.. i'm in the market for a new one myself. Do you happen to know the maximum height it will lift?

edit: i found this on their website for $125 -> http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product....t20744&topnav=

ya it was a good deal. The 1 in your link is not the same jack though. Its not on the costco website, but you may find it there still. its a great jack, goes very low, and built sturdy, but downside is it weighs almost as much as i do. So heavy in fact its still in seattle at my parents because I havent been able to transport it back here lol.

i bought a torin one locally. stay away from them they are crap. the only nice thing about them is they have an aluminum body to make them a little lighter but the general quality is crap. i'm looking for a better replacement so i can return it back to costco.
