So really the items you are using is just you are borrowing it for awhile till someone takes/steals from you, and you do the same to the next person. That's what made it fun.

Now as long as you have gold(buy it through gold farmers) or use real money when RMAH comes out you can buy your way into gear.
really? guess you werent really involved with the whole trading scene in d2 and knowing people paying money so they can complete their mf sorc or hammerdin

when you die and u lose your items its cz your stash was full when you pick up your body... no ones fault but yours really or falling for scams... nothing to say to that

Not really because of the grind itself.....

The grind for reward for D2 is more much *rewarding*..
It makes you want to keep doing it.. like even if a run yield no reward...you know that the next run might drop somthing ....
..
You say to yourself.. 1 more run.. then next thing you know you're doing like 20~30 more runs.. !!!

But in D3 is like.. not as rewarding.. due to the fact the chance of a decent/great reward is much more rare...
how is grinding in d3 not rewarding? you get to sell it on AH, if you are smart you can play the market and sell something above market value

another reward is being able to clear inferno... thats pretty rewarding to me..
especially now that blizz made shit drop much more frequent......

D3 needs to bring back the lobby system

What i like about most online multiplayer games and d2 is the ability to interact and trade with players from around the world ( North America ).

I don't want to just buy new gear just so i can sell my old gear with a 15% deduction if im even lucky, I want to negotiate, which is what made diablo 2 so fun.

also.. don't know about anyone else .. but i get no satisfaction or joy from buying something from the AH even if its a steal.. or even upset when i under price something really good

The real joy and satisfaction comes after you negotiate and get away with a good deal, that you would want to tell your friends about. OR get ripped off, and cry about it all day, but at least there is some sort of emotional connection with the game.
only point i agree with thus far that makes d3 worse than d2
theres hardly any trading going on, and without lobby it sucks yea
but trading itself hardly killed WoW, people just adapted to using the AH, maybe in the future blizz could add more to D3 (ie lobby)

but hey, if i really want to brag to friends is being able to 3-man, 2-man, or even solo act2/3/4 inferno... thats bragging rights there imo

eitherway, im just stating my opinion on d3 and how i think its pretty good as is, sure there are somethings that could be done to fix it or even be added
but the way it is now i love it but i dont agree with where blizzard might be adding (ie dejavu from wow...)

and i hope blizzard will ignore the many "casual gamers" that are qq-ing every day saying that the game is too hard and shit
since day 1 blizz stated inferno is meant for the hardcore gamers, you "casual gamers" can enjoy your normal, nightmare, and hell
let us hardcore gamers have a shot at something you guys dont want to commit to, its fine
its because of these qq-ers that killed wow, it made wow into a tunnel-vision sort of game just so these casual gamers can enjoy raid

dont get me wrong, im fine with casuals enjoying aspects of the game, but in diablo3 you guys get to enjoy EVERY single aspect of it just not inferno.... well its obvious if you cant put in the time to grind, then dont bother with doing inferno, its not like you guys havent seen whats up ahead... lol

Xpac on d2 was 2ez,
Classic was where it was at, nl and ladder

Ppl payed plenty of money for setups/gear
For my nl dupes
I sold 2 vb dins for 800$each
And every other char 400$ min
And depending on gear for ladder upto 200$
This was USD.

The fun in d2 for me was pvp, 4v4s, jumpin in games and making ppl rage lool.
And grinding from 86+, Cs runs not baal,
Was hoping d3 wouldve been similair to d2, but in HD
New chars and some tweaks.

one thing i enjoy about d2 over d3, is customization. you do your own stats, you focus on your techpath, rune combos. obviously d3 just came out but just seems like worlds away before it gets more... intriguing?

I would disagree with that.
Most skills or entire skill trees are not useable in D2 (eg. poison dagger / ALL the fire elemental skills for druids are garbage). Seriously, have you guys tried volcanos, and boulders for a fire druid in D2?

And what rune combos? Non sorc. characters were all using enigma's, teleporting? Zon's were all using Faith bow w/ fanaticism. And every build gave an infinity polearm to their merc to eliminate/reduce resists.

Everyone was running the same build in D2.
I see a little bit more diversity in D3. There are still alot of dead skills when you get into inferno, but at least all the damage scales with your weapons (again, go and look at the damage of the druid's volcano and boulders in d2, with MAX synergy, it will make you laugh).

Someone mentioned earlier that the grind for items are not as good in D3.
Well, as of right now, your character's progression is dependant 100% on your gear. If everyone were getting the drops that they want, this game would be too easy. And I do remember that there were many people complaining about how "easy" Diablo 3 was in the beginning, especially during the beta. And now alot of people are saying inferno is too hard.

It's hard to please everyone.

I'm fine with inferno being hard. But when you get phantom one-shotted enough times, it gets pretty stupid really quick. At least give me a fighting chance.

tbh, i never got a chance to try all sorts of chars. but i liked that part of d2. i'm not hating on d3, but for me, that was one thing i liked, attempting to get the runes to make an enigma for example. just my opinion anyway.

i totally agree with what you said there. i blasted through normal to hell with only drops and here and there AH items. but as you said, progression is 100% dependant on gear. i've been farming imps, butcher runs, you name it and nothing on par drops for inferno. this is whats making this game so boring and may perhaps lose a lot of players.

I hate the hit detection in this game so much. Sometimes the enemy's attack doesn't even connect graphically, but still registers as a hit as a part of the game's engine when I micro my person away. Bull shit. Lvl 60 stuff that's half decent now costs at least 1Mil.

That I do agree with. I start to retreat when the monsters get even without a quarter screen or so. XD

Then there are some monsters that will kill you either way if you are "undergeared", like the snakes in act 2. They just go invisible, and one shot you when they appear. You only option is to throw up a decoy (eg. mirror image for wiz, summons for wd, etc...) That I think should be fixed because that's not even skill-dependant.

I miss collecting legendary items like in D2
Game pretty much only relies on gold now.. no more item for item trades anymore.

Can't say I completely agree with those of you who may do this, but a warning to any botters/script users out there who've been farming gold:

Reports going around that Blizz is throwing around the ban hammer right before RMAH release to accounts.

Warning! Account banned

IMO it is really good everything is costing more. Makes people grind more and finding valuable items worth A TON more value.

Also this safe proofs the game from almost all farmers because it takes a long time to farm a small amount of gold. Really good farmers can pull off 800k an hour, however if the value of gold is at 10 million for $10-$20 it is simply not worth it anymore.

hey guys, just asking for advice. im doing siegebreaker runs right now, but im running to him with no neph valor.

is it worth spending ALOT of time finding packs of monsters to get 5 stacks? i just run to him and kill him in a few minutes. i know neph valor increases amount of items he drops and increases MF, but the amount of time it takes to get 5 stacks doesnt seem worth it...?

i just respec'd my WD from 42k HP to 30-32k HP and now with about 28k dps. 41k DPS when i drop the totem .. but i cant live long enough in inferno anyways. my meat shields only gives me so much time
