Well, when I called the BC/Yukon HP rep today, he basically said HP's discontinuing all webOS device production (meaning HP will no longer be making the TouchPad, Pre3, Veer, etc.). However, HP will be licensing webOS and he said they have a few companies that are likely to be licensing webOS in the near future (he wouldn't name names or give an exact time frame, so don't put too much stock in it).

Basically, webOS isn't dead ... but it's in critical condition ...

Again, HP = Fucking Assholes ... I kind of wish I had more than 1 week left of work so I could steer customers away from all of their products for the rest of the year just as a fuck you to them. This seriously pisses me off ...

Don't worry, I'll add HP to my list alongside Canon in products to avoid when I eventually wander out of my dungeon and deal customers.

Don't get me wrong; as a consumer, I love Canon's products. However, from working in a major retail chain that deals with RTVs, Canon was among the very worst of the vendors to deal with. If we returned a product back to Canon with so much as a hairline scratch on it, they would return it back to us, charge us shipping, and refuse the RMA. They were an absolute bitch to deal with. As a result, I have half a dozen towering skids in my warehouse with Canon products that can't be RTV'ed because there's some sort of mark on the product.

My technology associates refuse to sell Canon to customers anymore.

As for the HP Touchpad, I don't think my store has sold a single unit.

I had a HP laptop that failed due to quality issues and HP refusing to admit to the issue. I will never buy another HP product, and am not surprised to see this fail.

I remember lining up outside the HP store on Alberni for the Alex Burrows signing (they were promoting the HP Touchpad) when this rep came up to my friends and I in the lineup and started demo-ing the TouchPad to us. Halfway through the demo he accidentally called it an iPad and didn't even notice until we told him

Just a bit of insider information, many companies will be blowing through these units this upcoming weekend. My company (not saying where, but I'm sure enough searching will yield an answer) is dropping the 16gb down to $99 and the 32gb down to $149.

It's worth it at that price just as a couch internet surfing machine.

Everywhere is selling for $99, price has either been adjusted, or will be adjusted for tomorrow.

BB/FS/Staples/TSCC. Most online stock have already been sold out.

Hahaha, our employee pricing was still better than that. I bet you, discontinued or not, these things WILL sell out.

Fuck I'm going tonight. using my gcs. Those of you who did the facebook thing for future shop and are waiting for gcs to arrive don't bother waiting. You can always go to customer service afterwards to adjust your purchase if you get new gcs in the mail after

I'm gonna try the 32GB.
16GB all sold out in store. Do not bother going to BB Cambie, FS Broadway, or London Drugs Vic/41st (for possible PM).

I called it, sold out everywhere...Our staff promotions were STILL cheaper than these prices...

My first post in this thread was, "if you could get it for this price, you WOULD..." and people argued it lol.

Picked one up. C'mon. 99$ can't go wrong, it's a decent piece of hardware! Porting android over in the future maybe, and this is the deal of the year. At the very least, I'll leave it in the bathroom and won't have to bring the iPhone in during number 2
