"Promo code may be only be used once, is non-transferable, is not valid on previous purchases, on Canadian online purchases"

Can only be used online, so it doesn't work

just got the gatsby mat grunge. hate it. Hard to wash off/work with. Seems like an Asian version of Fructis stuff which I don't like. I am sticking to good ol American Crew from now on.

i use this:

recomended by a friends sister(she's a hairdresser)
keeps my hair soft and keeps it in shape, better than gel or wax i find, i can still run my fingers thru my hair.
good purchase.
like $15 a bottle tho

The new hotness in Japan is ARIMINO SPICE CREAM

I am selling it on ebay, but nobody is buying. I guess it hasn't caught on overseas...

I tried it but it's not right for my white boy hair. Hear it's awesome for coarse asian hair though!

Using exact same thing, recommended by my barber (Johnny from JD's Barber in GasTown). It's great if you have an undercut or similar hairstyle (mine is 0.5 on sides, and side-part on the top). Get it from amazon, it's the cheapest there!

I got a pomp style cut like what you have described and my stylist used Layrite as well. When I checked on Amazon I realized Layrite has a few products and I am not sure which one he used on me. The product gave my hair a shine and it smells like marshmellows. He showed me the inside of the container and it's a little pink. Is it the pomade you are talking about?

woody's web, great for longer hair that you can still comb your hands through (for medium to long hair). got it online as not many retailers carry it locally

pros: smells great, light, pliable, matte, washes out easily

cons: not a very strong hold, expensive

ls&b pucka. great for any length hair. it is similar to the american crew forming cream but less greasy and dries matte. again hard to find locally. ordered mine online.

pros: smells good, pliable, great hold, washes out pretty easily, matte

cons: expensive

These products are good for the modern white boy hair styles such as the modern pomp, combover etc, so probably not an accurate review for those who style their hair like hongers/twangers etc...

I can also do reviews for the american crew fiber, forming cream, defining paste. Redken workhard, d fi destruct if you guys want.

Ya, I like it, not as sticky as the Gatsby Moving Rubber Series, holds well and gives a nice dry look. I've been using it for about 3-4 yrs already.

i have used both the black and red cubed box from gatsby, i found the black one sucked compared to the red box (short hair style).

I use osmo essence clay wax now though with the hipster hair

Not for me, comes out easily with just hot water (I don't shampoo every day unless I sweat that day)

What do you guys recommend for a undercut hair? My hair is straight as hell and i need something that gives a good shine but with extra hold. Preferable something under $20

since I have really short hair and a receding hair line. I keep the sides short, and the top short...but a bit longer than the sides..just enough to put some clay in it to mess the top up a bit.

anyways, I use L'Oreal dirty clean matte clay

review I found..

L?Oreal Paris Studio Dirty Clean Texturizing Solid Creme | Asian Hair Community - Style06.com

curious though, since some people here sound like they use 3-4 products at once just to get that perfect look...mind throwing up some pictures of your hair? really curious to see what the end result is after throwing that much stuff in your hair daily...and how long does it take for you to style your hair each morning??

me...20 seconds at most lol

Hmm I dont htink it smells like marshmellows but it definitely does have a sweet scent to it. Inside is a orangey colour and it does make your hair shine and makes it really stiff.

L'Oreal hair products is not bad too. Before I knew about Gatsby, I was using the L'Oreal Fiber Putty and it was pretty good.

isn't asian hair thicker than caucasian hair, for the most part? so you would have medium coarse hair hhehe

+1.
I have this stuff in my bathroom right now. Does the trick.

I always get some sort of wax, putty, or clay. Don't like the feel/look of gel. I try a different brand every time (whatever's on sale or has packaging that catches my eye), and haven't noticed/cared enough to notice a difference.

I'm also interested in how different your hair actually looks with 3-4 products as opposed to just 1.

99% of the time I just use the one product, and I'm done in under a minute. Once in a blue moon if I really need my hair to stay put, I'll use a tiny bit of hairspray, but that's very seldom. (I've had the same bottle of hairspray for over 2 years, and it's still almost full)

what hair products have you tried? have they all been drug store brand, or have you tried american crew, redken, etc? a lot of people use /need hairspray to keep the hold after styling (esp with longer hair). I personally hate the crunchiness of hair spray so I do not use it. I like being able to run my hands through my hair even after it is styled.

Rockin', I'd love to try this. I can only get this at aberdeen? $?

For now, I just use lotion, udderly smooth cream, in my hair to create a sorta wet look.

Occasionally use Murray's, but hate that thick wax and only lasts a couple hours in my hair, strangely enough.

I'd love to keep that wet/glossy look.
