How are you liking 3.5?

My brother in-law says his works fine but his GF's crashes quite a bit.

I am still using an older version mostly problem free.

i wouldn't even mind paying a fellow rs'er to help me install android for me. i'm not too confident when it comes to stuff im not too familiar with. i'm mostly afraid of bricking my touchpad.

It's pretty good. Although I went from WebOS directly to 3.5 without trying the other builds. It's stable, however whenever I stream a video. The screen is filled with lines of purple and green.

However, I just restarted my Touchpad and it works fine now.

Apparently it's very difficult to brick a Touchpad thanks to WebOS Doctor or some such computer program that you can use for recovery.

Yeah, I just read [Release][Alpha3.5]Cyanogenmod Touchpad - RootzWiki a few times and I was still confused LOL :(

A) Made the cminstall folder in the wrong section
B) novacom was giving me issues when installing

And installed it twice without doing it properly, I just turned it off and turned it back on. Tried again and on the 3rd time it finally worked. Pretty idiot proof, although it took me like 2 hours since I had to install Java SDK etc.

Anyone else having problems connecting to wifi after installing alpha 3.5?

I've heard lots of people are having problems with their Wi-Fi. I haven't experienced it yet.. *knock on wood*

So I'm a total noob with android. I know with iPad you download apps from iTunes. What is the equivalent for android? I don't have any apps right now....

Possibly.. lol but you guys might want to hold on a bit longer. Alpha 3.5 has some bugs still, the Wi-Fi issue seems to be most common(cannot connect to Wi-Fi) and some video issues(green/purple bars across videos)

whats the best build so far? 2 or 3?

HonestTea 01-07-2012 02:39 AM

I think Alpha 3 is most stable although theirs some video issues regarding it.

What version did you install? Can you connect to wifi and do you have the andriod market app installed?

bobola 01-08-2012 06:28 PM

Able to connect once, but after that it never connects to it anymore..

jing 01-08-2012 06:43 PM

I think I installed Alpha 3.5, the latest build. No wifi problems and I have nothing installed right now.

The only gripe I have with it so far is that everything loads up as the mobile version. I'm guessing that has to do with the fact that this Android port seems to be from a phone? No idea lol
