Able to connect once, but after that it never connects to it anymore..

Just noticed I am having the wifi issue on mine. Rebooting the TP twice in a row fixes it.

Rated_R 01-14-2012 01:27 PM

just updated to 3.5, having wi-fi issues even after rebooting few times.

After changing my wireless network from "auto" to ch8 wi-fi works great regardless if it goes into standby or turning it off. :)

CM9 Alpha 0 is out now! [Release][Alpha0] CyanogenMod 9 Touchpad - RootzWiki

Just installed and it is suhweet!

Gh0stRider 01-18-2012 07:35 PM

how is it?

dton13 01-18-2012 07:53 PM

Just working out some quirks. Decided to do a reformat and start fresh because my GMail wasn't working. Will keep you updated

HonestTea 01-18-2012 08:31 PM

NICEEEEEE!

Their might be a few bugs since it's so new, gonna wait til the next update to get CM9. Can't wait!

b0unce. [?] 01-18-2012 08:36 PM

Would someone help me install it? ><

dton13 01-18-2012 09:00 PM

I'd stay away from this Alpha for now, its really quite buggy as I can't even get my google account on it properly (YMMV). Third time reinstalling here goes!

dton13 01-18-2012 09:22 PM

Okay, I got it working. FYI

When I initially updated using novacom and ACMEInstaller2, my Google account wasn't work and numerous data/wipes/fixes/etc didn't solve the problem.

I just wiped and reinstalled directly from CWM (contrary to what they suggested initially) and so far so good!

Used these fixes in addition to the cm9 update

edit: i've run into more bugs so i'll post a successful combo when I can more thoroughly confirm

Well finally got everything up and running like I want it to.

What ended up working for me (a lot of similar setups from rootzwiki)
- format data/system/cache directly from CWM
- flash force close fix
- flash gapps v8 (for some reason this didn't work with ACMEInstaller or without the format of system)
- flash gapps fixer

Verdict : Amazing. Finally having a tablet based OS is miles better. I'm glad I didn't sell it because once they've worked out the quirks, this will fly.

It's pretty much what I posted above but I'll try to provide more detail to get you started.

D/L and copy to your TP the following files (can provide links tonight after work):

Alpha 0.5
Forceclosefix
gapps v8
gapps fixer

1. Boot to CWM

2. Format system/data/partition (in mounts & storage)

3. Flash Alpha0.5

4. Flash forceclose fix (not sure if necessary anymore with 0.5)

5. Flash gapps v8

6. Flash gapps fixer

7. Reboot

*this should work, mind you I did use ACMEInstaller2 several times at first before just simply installing through CWM. I'm going to take a stab and say completely bypassing ACMEInstaller2 should also work, but don't hold me to it.

**This is for a clean install (backup your important stuff lol)

Alpha0.6 is out!!!

I upgrade from CM7 to CM9 just last night.
And then 0.6 came out today :suspicious:

The wifi works for me now!!!
Some HD stuff doesnt work like YouTube HD.
So much smoothier.. and nicer.. maybe that due to ICS UI ;D!

Everything I use seems to be working .. for now at least..!
But the main issue for me on CM7 was the wifi, but now is working so I'm happy with it!

dton13 01-30-2012 01:40 PM

Upgrading once you're on cm9 is just a matter of running the new zip package. I noticed they've put in preliminary support for ROM manager meaning even easier updates and backups!

0.6 with gapps, gapps fixer and update-charger_systemui_fix-alpha0 gave me boot loop
0.6 with gapps, gapps fixer worked.
0.5 with gapps, gapps fixer worked worked for me

ecchiecchi 02-04-2012 07:07 PM

0.6 w/ gapps from CM7 was flawless!

Loving how it feels like a tablet compared to CM7 Alpha3
